If your looking for a route to run the wires follow the existing wiring loom through the firewall. The loom uses pre-drilled holes with rubber inserts so you won't have to drill any new holes. You can use small zip ties to secure it to the bundle of wires on the loom to keep thing tidy.

How to run your power wire through firewall .... I found a plug in the firewall beside where the accelerator wire goes through so I pulled the plug ...
Are you sure it's running when cranking? It should have come on when key turned on. This is for camrys up to year '91. It may apply in your '95, also. Check the 7.5 amp ignition fuse and the 15 amp EFI fuse and the EFI main relay, all located in the fuse box next to your battery. There is also the circuit opening relay tied in to fuel pump operation. It is usually found under center of dash. It is usually not the problem, but it is part of the checks for fuel pump operation. If your car has a " check connector" or "service connector" (also called a fuel pump check connector) under hood on driver's side near the firewall (a little 1 inch cube with a cap on it), then bridge terminals +B and Fp with a jumper wire. Turn key to on (don't start car). The pump should come on. Listen for fuel return noise from the fuel pressure regulator, and verify pressure in hose from the fuel filter. If nothing, check those fuses above. Here is how power runs to pump: Battery to 40 amp main fusible link-to 15 amp EFI fuse-to EFI main relay-to circuit opening relay-to fuel pump-to ground. Ignition switch and the computer (ECU) work the relays to pass power to pump. Hope this helps some, Randy. Good luck.
Check your ground cable. It should go to the motor and two the chassi (bolted to a fender).
Look for fuseable links. They always seem to move. They are about a 10 gauge sized wire with a plastic collor on it near the end. There can be some coming off the battery cable at the starter, on a junction block mounted on the firewall (If I remember right your 92 will have a cover on the passenger side firewall and I think they are under that) or near the battery.
Don't just look at the links (the fuse is actually the wire. It melts away when there is a circuit problem), tug a bit on them. They will corrode on the inside of the plastic collor and the wire may not be melted away but the connection inside can be bad.
If a link is bad, DO NOT REPLACE WITH A REGULAR FUSE. I seen people do that and a fuse, like found in the interior fuse panel, creates a resistance. You don't want to turn a 10 gauge wire into a small wire like found in a fuse. Napa auto parts has fuseable link wire. A but splicer and a ring splice would also be needed.
If the links are good then you need to check the bulk head connector on the drivers side firewall. The battery power will go through that inside the vehicle.
The vast majority of cars are Negatively ground. Meaning the negative return for your car runs through the cars frame and metal components. You probaby wont find a ground wire other than the actual negative black wire on the battery, which you will find is attached to the cars metal structure somewhere. Even if there is a ground wire from another compnent within your car to connect to within the car, you can get away without using it. Simply connect the black ground wire from your stereo to somewhere metal, ie slightly under a screw or bolt that goes into the metal subframe or engine firewall under the dash somewhere, join the wire around the screw / bolt and ensure it has good wire to metal contact, the tighten the screw/ bolt up. The subframe / firewall will act as the metal conducter to return power to the negative terminal of your battery. Make take a bit of trial and error to find a good point to join the ground wire but not too difficult to figure out.
Check along the firewall the s10 uses a power wire and it runs along the firewall should a post with wires to it see if you have power there.
let me know if this helps
Ususally in lower outside corner of the firewall. You'll have to check for clearance on both side that way you dont drill thru any wires. Also you'll have to pull back little bit of the carpet..Hope I could help
Your best bet is to actually drill a hole through the firewall and istall a rubber grommet to protect the wire. If this isn't really an option, you might try locating the places the wiring harness and spedometer cable go through the firewall, or where the shifter goes through the transmission tunnel. The main thing is to protect the wire from heat and rubbing against metal. Hope this helps :)
if you look at the firewall area you usually can see rubber or plastic black plugs to run wiring to the passenger compartment; look by the left side kick panel on the floor next to your brake pedal; good area to drill if you have to ; make sure you insulate any cable or power supply going through the firewall so the wire is protected from rubbing or vibration
