I suspect my 1995 windstar may have a bad modulator valve the fluid level seems to go away with no apparent leak and now it takes off in 2nd gear and won't shift to 3rd or od and the od light on t

I've been doing research on these vans. Seems I remember that if the OD light flashes >>> fluid level is low. Also, I read where Ford wants you to overfill fluid so as to allow you to go around corners without loss of lubracation. By this time you may have melted it down and bought a Honda. I have a 95 Teal color and just in flawless shape, however it won;t go in reverse. Just follow the hood ornament and don;t look back...right ! ?

Program door locks to lock when shifting into park

Hi. I had this model year GMC and it has lots of options with regards to programming features. The choice you are seeking, to lock upon shifting into park is not one of them. The choices are to autolock when you put it into drive or no auto lock but not the option you want. Joe

Thanks for choosing Fixya!

My theft light on my 1998 Lincoln Navigator is on and the car won't start.

Deactivating/activating the autolock feature...
Before following the procedure, make sure that the ignition is OFF and all vehicle doors and the liftgate window are closed.
You must complete steps 1-5 within 30 seconds or the procedure will have to be repeated. If the procedure needs to be repeated, you must wait 30 seconds.
1. Turn the ignition key to ON.
2. Press the power door unlock control three times.
3. Turn the ignition key from ON to OFF.
4. Press the power door unlock control three times.
5. Turn the ignition back to ON. The horn will chirp.
6. Press the unlock control, then press the lock control. The horn will
chirp once if autolock was deactivated or twice (one short and one long
chirp) if autolock was activated.
7. Turn the ignition to OFF. The horn will chirp once to confirm the
procedure is complete.

Also, if your vehicle is equipped with a coded-key anti-theft system. Only the correct key will be able to start your vehicle. If your keys are lost or stolen, you must take your vehicle to a Ford/Lincoln-Mercury dealership for re-programming.
Programming additional keys If you need additional keys electronically coded for your vehicle, spares can be purchased (a maximum of 16 keys can be programmed). To program a new key, perform the following procedure:
1. With the coded key in the ignition, turn the ignition from ON to OFF.
2. Within 15 seconds of turning ignition off, insert the new coded key
into the ignition and turn it from OFF to ON or START. If successful, the
THEFT indicator light will illuminate for two seconds. Repeat procedure
for all new keys.
If key coding fails, the THEFT indicator light will flash.
Coding failure can be caused by any of the following:
² The new key was not inserted into the ignition within 15 seconds.
² 16 keys have already been programmed.
² The new key does not have an electronic code.

Other details can find in the 1998-Lincoln-Navigator-Owners-Manual

Good luck (remember comment and rated this).

2002 impala doors wont lock when I put the car in gear or when I use the remote.

Could be as simple as a programming issue. You can check this by turning the ignition to the acc or on position, turn the power to the stereo off then push and hold the tune/disp button for about 10 sec. The screen will say settings, scroll through using the seek button. You will see options for autolock, fob and several different things. You should be able to change the programming from there. If you get confused this information will be in your owners manuel.

I am wanting to know where the door light is on the door jam on my 1999 ford windstar lx......i am trying to program a key fob and need to find the door light to press in......

i think you should cycle the key on-off-on-off like 8 or ten times ending in on position, the locks will cycle and then press a key on the remote, the locks should cycle noting it programmed the remote, and do another or turn the key off. then try it
