Ac stops running after some time this indicates few possibilities. Check the refrigerant level in the compressor of car ac.If its low then car will compressor will overheat and stops running. Also check the coolant level. If its low then it needs to be full. Also check if there any leak of the coolant.Get the ac pressure test done.It can be done at any local car garage. This will confirm whether there is refrigerant or coolant leak in the system causing the ac to stop after sometime. If coolant and refrigerant all checked OK.Then the thermostat needs to be checked. When the car temperature reaches certain temp the cooling fan turn on and cools the thermostat. But if the cooling fan stopping after ac turns off then thermostat needs to be checked. Also connect the fan connections to car battery and check if the fan is running directly.Check the voltage at fan terminals. It should show exact 12 volt.If less then that then fan is faulty and needs replacement. If fan tested OK then thermostat needs to be checked and replaced. Also check the coolant temperature sensor. If this sensor is not working then this will make the vehicle overheat and this will stop the ac and it stops running.---------- Thanks. The thermal limit sensor is being activated. It is either faulty - or the AC is not functioning properly.

Thanks!!

Get air out of heater core

Fill the coolant reservoir up as much as possible then raise the cars front end up as high as possible and run the engine until it is at operating temperature, now shut down the engine and run cold water over the radiator core, this will **** in the coolant and expel the trapped air from the system.

When you shut off the engine the overflow jug bubbles,i've already replaceds the head gasket and it doesn't seem too be overheating and it doesn't do it when its running?

You could have an airlock still in the system. Run the vehicle at idle and squeeze the top and bottom radiator hoses with the expansion bottle cap removed. Add fluid gradually to it keeping it under the full marker. The bubbling is super hot air caused by air trapped either in the engine block, or top of radiator. A little tip while doing this, have the heaters on in the car and on high heat with the fans running at high speed. If you notice the engine getting warm and the heating in the car stays cold, the airlock is going to need a bit more work. Eventually if you have replaced the head gasket correctly the air lock with come out. Hope this helped...

1997 Nissan 4 cylinder truck AC works excellent throwing snowballs cold air, then it will blow hot air. Relay switch and clutch has been replaced....Did not fix problem!

sounds like compressor isn't working properly or heater vacuum is opening vent to heater core.try turning on ac and if it cuts on and off repeatedly every few seconds the freon level is not correct or high pressure switch may not be working make sure radiator fan comes on when ac is on.if all this is working properly check vacuum hoses to heater may be opening vent doors to heater.hope this helps

Ac does not come on cold when first started when i drive it a mile or so it come on ice cold and stays working till I shut it off 2000 nissan altima

This is normal conditions anything that uses forced air heat or cold there is ambient air in the duct work that must be purged out before the heated or cooled air flows.

The fan on my nissan altima 01 always comes on after I shut my car off... my buddy just replaced the radiator and now the fan does not turn on after i turn the car off??? what should I do??

Hello, that is normal for the cooling fans to run after the engine has been shut off, its still bringing the cooling system to normal. If the fans run continuously, check the fan relay fuse.

1996 Regal: No heat, Radiator Fans wont work, Over heating.

If the thermostat is not opening then the engine heats up. So I would replace that first and then see about the fans not turning.

Hope this helps
