You will need to find the wires on the back of the radio and make sure the hot wire is getting juice to it also if it is an aftermarket radio some require that the constant power be hooked up as well in order for it to work. howevwer the factory radio on most models will not need the constant power except for memory only. also if it is aftermarket radio there will be an inline fuse on the hot wire and constant. also need to check ground. no ground no power. all of that being checked and still no power u may have to break down and find a new radio

You people ARE NOT ADDRESSING MY PROBLEM!!!! My car isn't getting ANY power to it since I hit a deer!! What do you suggest I do to start it??

There is a reset switch on your car that has to be reset, It is under the dash on the passenger side right behind the dash pannel. Or it may be behind the foot pannel on the side of the car. There is a button that you have to push in order to reset the switch. There will be a red light come on when it is reset. Good luck.

Fuse number 25 for radio no 12 volts

And key is on when tested? With key on, power should be available at the fuse terminal. If not, something may be wrong in the power distribution block under the hood, maybe a fuse there is out.

Quick fuse check without pulling them out: You need a testlight. Turn key on. Probe the little indents on both ends of top of fuse. A bad fuse will only light the testlight on one side. A good fuse will light on both sides of the fuse. On those circuits that are hot at all times (like the brake circuit), it is the same: bad fuse-only one side lights up. Good fuse-both sides of fuse will light up the testlight.

1 Answer, 2006 malibu cd player keeps the cd, doesn't eject or take the cd, but plays fine. Is there a part I can replace myself?

Is it a burned CD-R? I know (this is probably the same on a 2006) that on my 2005 if you put one in, it will play fine then lock the disc in. There is a fuse pannel on the passenger side on the center of the console towards the front of the car. Just pull the plastic cover off. Find the 10A fuse by the little grey box, and a blue and white circle. (or just look for the fuse labled "RADIO" on the map inside the plastic cover and then locate it in the fuse box). Turn the key off, pull the fuse, turn the key back on for a sec and the radio will not come on. turn the key off, put the fuse back in and turn the key on. the disc should either come out or you will have to push eject. This may or may not work, some people say it doesn't work for them. (this may reset the radio number buttons memory). Hope this helps!

Is the fuse box suppose to be switched power? i just installed an aftermarket radio and it does not turn off after i remove the key. i have to turn off the radio. i read there is no switched power in the...

About half of your fuse block is switched and the other half isn't. Use a test light and check the fuses with the key on and then with the key off to find a good place to make your connection. Don't use any fuses that connect to the computer (usually red 10Amp). When you make the hookup. after finding a good fuse to use (generally 20A or higher), pull the fuse out and check to see which side is hot. Connect to that side and use an in-line fuse in the wire to the radio. You also need to attach a second wire from the radio in most cases to run the memory and clock. That wire attaches to a "always on" fuse attached the same way as the other one.

My cigerette lighter as well as my radio is not working. I believe it is a fuse as it just happened one day. I checked the fuses on the driver's side of the car and none of them seemed to be out.

there is a fuse box under the hood also . I would use a test light and make sure all the fuse were good in both fuse boxes . you need to check the fuse with the key in the run position. I also think that on the pannel that covers the fuse box on the drives side of the car list what each fuse is as does the cover on the under hood fuse box . You may be looking for 2 different fuse . one for the radio and one for the lighter circuit . there will be fuses with out any power on either side of them witch is normal .. like the head light fuse will not have power untill the head lights are turn on . but the radio fuse should have power with just the key in the run position as should the lighter fuse

I have a 2006 HHR. The radio turns on but no sound...the dash lights for the blinkers work, but no sound. Any suggestions?

check your fuse pannel tor a clicker fuse. and it sounds like you have a loose wire coming from the radio or on the speaker. good luck

I'm having problems with radio/cassete player not turning on, fuses ok, what else?

check ALL the fuses including under hood fuses
because some fuses feed other fuses
if good you need to pull out the radio its easy just push in on those bars on the front of the radio on the left and right sides with a pen or something they will extend out then you just pull it out
make sure there is power and ground to it [there are 2 power wires one is hot with key off and on the other only when key on]
if all good then radio is broken take it the radio to the dealer and they can send it out for repairs

Fuse pannel

Safe means you have to key in a code for the radio to be unlocked. You are given three chances and then you must wait two hours before you try again. I'm not sure how you find out what the code is if you don't have it already.
