THIS CONDITION IS ONLY CAUSED BY ONE THING AND THAT IS A FAILED FORWARD CLUTCH, THIS IS THE ONLY PROBLEM THAT CAUSES THIS REVERSE ONLY CONDITION, U WILL NEED THE TRANSMISSION OVERHAULED.

failure of a clutch basket,loss of a seal and the pressure drops to the clutch pack, allot of reasons. Seen this dozens of times, the transmission is gone, the reverse only is the dead give away

So can a rebuild kit fix this or do I need a new tranny

Unless you have allot of experience rebuilding automatic transmissions i suggest you either buy a rebuilt from the ford dealer or have it done by a good shop.

U can't buy a new tranny only factory rebuilts.

2002 ford expedition stuck in park the gear shift would not come out of park

replace the neutral safety switch or also try rocking the vehicle forward and back and then trying the shifter again.if it is parked tight against a curb and had rolled forward just a little bit and came to rest with the vehicles weight against one tire this will cause a bind and won't let it out of park this is especially true of 4x4 vehicles as the mileages get hire I hope this helps and good luck

2001 dodge ram 2500 v10 oil pressure drops to 0 then back up

you need to put an oil pressure gauge on it and see what happens.what you will find is that the sender unit is no good.

97 dodge 2500 v10 4x4 will not idle in gear after the engine warms up. I have to hold 1 foot on the brake and one foot on the gas when I stop to keep the engine from shutting off. No other issues are...

sounds like you have a bad egr valve.

I have a 2002 ford excursion 4x4 v10 it starts but when you put in gear it dies what could it be.

ck trans fluid level. if its low, it could cause this. or the IAC (idle air control) valve is faulty.

If it is noisy only in third, then third is where the problem is, cluster gear and/or mainshaft gear. Rule of thumb, if it is noisy in only one forward gear, then that gear is where the problem is.

i actually adjusted the overdrive band and now it shifts great in all forward gears thank anyways
