Question about 1996 Mitsubishi Galant
It sounds like you may have a bad wire leading to your starter selenoied try replacing the wireing to your starter and when you make the connections put some dielectric greese on the connections to prevent carrsion
you may also have a bad relay replace it before you replace the wires to your starter
