SOURCE: Hood Won't Open, and Lever Broke

Hi viper852004 , the only way you can do this is to remove the front grills and then you will be able to see the 2 sprung bonnet pegs, you will need to loosen the adjusting nut where it screws into the hood and unscrew it until it becomes unattatched from the hood, do this for both pegs and then you should be able to release the hood to fix the problem. the pegs will need to be reinstalled before driving the car as the hood will not close, hope this is of some help, regards mark.

SOURCE: I need to know how to release the caliper piston

It turns in, rather than commpressing in. You may have to buy a tool for this, but if you are careful, you can do it with a spanner wrench.

Safety catch on hood wont release and hood wont re latch!

I would check to see if the hood release moves when the inside lever is pulled then pushed, if not the cable and latch mechanism may need lubrication or be broken.

Hood release on my 93 chev c1500 will not release. I think the grommet on the end of the cable broke off. how do i get it open?

If you have a long flat screw driver put it through the front grill to the hood latch and move it back if some one pushes down on the hood that will help you a lot to move the latch to right easly.

How do i open the bonnet of a 2004 saab 93 when the cable has snapped ?

This is a hard one, you will need to do this from the bottom and the front grille area, its not easy to do but can be opened, you will first need to try and locate a part of the cable thats still connected to latches and try to pull on it to release the hood, if theres not way to do this then you will have to locate the latches and release them this is difficult to do you will need to know what to look for and how to release them.

I can't open my hood on my 93 9000 cse saab, i pull the latch but the hood doesn pop up at all, please help

The hood release cable could be stuck or came loose. If you use a flashlight and look carefully through the top portion of the front grill you will see two little hooks. One to your left and one to your right. They are kind of between the lip of the hood and the top of the grill. The one on your left is near the top left of the grill and the one on your right is near the top right of the grill.Sorry if it sounds complicated.Another option is to use a thin flat screwdriver, fit it between the lip of the hood and the grill and slide it from left to right against both hooks. Both hooks move to the right to unlock the hood.

93 318 bmw hood cable broke close to latch how do i get it open

you will need to get to release arm or arm on latches, some of these bmws use two latches one on each side of the hood, use a long thin screw driver and try to reach the release arm, this arm is where the cable would pull to release the hood, try going from under the front of car and also from the grill area, this is not easy but can be done.

Engine hood wont open hood pull handle pulls out but wont release

Try pulling on the hood release, while someone else lifts the hood. If this doesn't work. You can access the underside of the hood release by taking the front grille out. If you look closely you'll see the retainer screws that can be removed from the front. Once the grille is out or loosened enougt to get your hand in behind, you can release the hood latch from the underside with a screwdriver and then repair the hood latch after you've opened it.
