First thing to check is the fuses and relays to see if there working rite (have a friend press the AC button and lisen for a clicking sound if you do the relay should be working (after your friend pressed the button if you here constant clicking or no clicking you should replace the relay

if your car has a fuse check the fuse with a multy meater if its bad replace it

the clutch on the AC compressor might be seazed this can cause the compressor to not funtion (this happens usually deuring winter months because of the lack of use )

the compressor its self might be seazed if so you should get it replaced

i hope this helps ^-^

Ac quit work after turn on

You can try doing a coolant recharge, go to your local auto parts supply and get a can of refrigerant. Follow the instructions on the can. You have to locate the high pressure valve on the system don't worry the hose only fits on the right one. If all goes well hook it up start the engine and turn on the AC to high. Once the gauge reads charged you should see the compressor turning and you should have cold air.

Make sure your fan clutch is working. No fan, no cooling of the condenser, no heat dissipation, no cold air. Start the truck and make sure you feel air movement, a lot.

Not cold enough

check ac system for a full charge of freon, if it is fully charged then check duct work to make sure the doors are functioning properly. some new cars have a hepa filter that could be clogged and restricting air flow

Ac quits blowing cold after 30 minutes to an hour system is fully charged, compressor cycles

could be freezing up, (too cold) have pressures checked when it stops cooling. If you park it, a lot of water will come out as the evaporator defrosts. I suspect IF does have a full charge, then the orifice tube may be plugged.

Hi.. 2002 vw golf 1.9 l diesel airconditioning stopped working its fully charged i had the battery and tray out and cleaned all grounds under the battery tray put it all back together and the ac worked...

Check the coolant sensors. One sensor, when coolant is overheated, cuts the ac off, this sensor may be stuck electrically open, only two wires going to it. Other sensor has four wires, two for temp gage and two for engine management.

My 1998 GMC Safari ac works well (cold) in the rear. The front AC is just barely cool. Ac reads a good charge, not over or under charged. What could cause this?

The blend door is not fully closed for the front. GM's are bad for that. Also check the vaccuum line for the door.
