Question about 2006 Porsche Cayman S

2 Answers

Hi Guys, I am really hoping you can help me with this as I have searched everywhere and have yet to find an answer. When I accelerate my porsche cayman s makes it a little hissing sound. It is only when I initially accelerate. What is this noise. Sometimes it is louder than usual. Also at times the car feels sluggish whilst at other times it feels very light and powerful. Regards nil

Hi there,
Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

You need to take it to a Porsche dealer to have the computer software updated. The sooner, the better! Until then, turn off your PSM (Porsche Stability Management), to see if that helps.

Porsche keys Hi, thanks in advance for hopefully answering my question, We've just purchased a 1989 928 Porsche and only have one key for it. We're in New Zealand and it seems there is NO where that

Find the Porsche dealer service centre / parts department as they will have replacement keys and probably a key cutting and programming machine.

I'd replace the fuel filter. It's easiest if you use a toggle joint adapter with your socket and ratchet.

My 1988 911 porsche is running really rough. suggestions as to why?

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

Two things to look at to resolve the problem. You may have a faulty MAF (mass air flow) sensor or O2 sensor. If one of these is faulty, the vehicle may run rough, may have erratic idle and may even result to stalling. Please have it checked and replace if necessary.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

I have a porsche cayenne turbo 2003.When I take my foot off the accelerator there's a whining noise coming from the front. When I accelerate, there's no noise.I took it to porsche and they told me my front...

sounds like your porche dealer is one of the "one for one" mechanics (repair it,no, replace it).assuming it is the diff, the pinion can be adjusted to reduce the noise on overun but you will need to get one of the old school mechanics to do this,as personally, ive only done one,in 35 years,i have even heard of some people that fit a thicker oil to reduce the whine........then sell the car.not nice.if you trust the guys that said its repairable, then they "sound"genuine enough.otherwise they would have tried to get you to change it (they make more money/take less time).

Hi, Check water in the distributer cap. If that doesn't work try the fuel pump relay.
