Question about 2005 Chevrolet Corvette

1 Answer

My 2005 corvettes battery was drained after sitting for too long. I recharged the battery but when I tried to restart the FOB were not being detected and the horns and lights go off like someone is trying to steal the car whenever the battery has a charge. I tried replacing the batery with the same results. Car reads FOB not detected

The car's security/keyless entry system needs to be reset, and it's not recognizing the keyless entry FOB.

Check this LINK for how to re-program the FOB, which should allow you to turn off the alarm.

I don't know how to reset the alarm without the FOB, but it should be in the Owner's Manual.

Security system for c6 corvette / resets

I had this problem when my battery got low. Had to use key to open truck to get in car. The horn started going off so I had to pull the fuse and then charge the battery. If you hold the lock and unlock buttons on the key fob for 10 seconds it will reset the system. Worked for me.

You may need to go to the dealer. Many fobs are only accepted by having the diagnostic computer hooked up to the car and be sure to have all fobs there, as they all may need to be "accepted".

Where can I get a new battery for the fob for my 2005 Tiburon?

I would try Autozone because I have seen FOB testers on the counter. Another great place is Interstate battery company. They can rebuild rechargeable battery paks and carry everything from watch batteries to batteries for Semis.

Hello. These cars can be confusing to people, I have even known people to become "locked" inside their own cars. When you open the door, and don't close it and then get back in the car thinks you are still outside, but it detects your fob and is warning you there is a fob left in the car. You probably have it set in the DIC to detect fob left in the car. You can change it in the DIC if you wish.

Slight glitch from what I've found. Has happened to me at the gas pump. One other time while talking outside my car with out opening the doors. If No FOB detected then step out of the car lock and unlock, get back in and try. If still dosen't detect then you need to walk twenty feet away with your key and it should reset.

I have 2009 Corvette, with battery problems as follows: IT seems when it sits for a week or so the battery goes dead. The dealer could not find anything wrong except for a bad battery, so they replaced it....

it has a draw, and they will be best equipped to find it. There are more modules on that car than the shuttle. it may take them a while, its warranty right?? its just a process of elimination, removing modules/ components from the "LOOP" until the draw goes away. good luck

FOB Battery Low

You should be able to unscrew the back of your FOB, or just pry it open with a flathead. Your battery should be sitting inside of there and you just pop it out and throw a new one in.
