Check your accessory belt to see if it is slipping and get your alternator tested at a local auto parts store to make sure it is working right. Hope this helps.

Battery light comes on while driving. Immediately after water pump/timing belt replacement. Replaced battery and alternator tests good. Intermittent battery light remains?

It sounds as though the belt may be slipping or is not tight enough?

If it's a toothed belt it won't slip - it may not be tensioned enough where it goes around the alternator pulley. They are adjustable.

A smooth non-toothed belt can slip.

Also, check the tightness of the battery leads where they connect to the battery and to the earth - on the bodywork/engine block

The battery light indicates the alternator is not charging the battery, keep driving and the car will stop when the battery runs out! Get the alternator checked!

95 GMC Jimmy two wheel dr the battery light will come on during shifting. Volts will go down and lights go dim. After it shifts gear it would go back to normal. Will repeat during shift gears or rpms...

like I see the problem ,the most common is belt not tight enough or alternator or battery
with a voltmeter check the battery voltage more then 13 volts. test battery with a load test

98 Honda passport. Just died while driving

first things first ,have you got fuel in it ,did any warning lights come on like the battery light and if so check if your fanbelt has not come off or the alternator is not charging the battery and it died because the battery is flat.the other thing is to see if your fuel lines are not blocked, fuel filter and if your getting fuel to the engine if not it might be fuel pump. There can be many issues related to your problem.

Car would not start after being off for about 1 hour. No problems prior. Finally pumped gas once and it started. About 4 blocks down the road car shut off while driving. Parked it but didnt even have...

Cheapest first test is to have a load test done on the battery to check for failing cell. Next is to check the tension and condition of the alternator drive belt as it the alternator is not being driven at correct rpm then all the power that it is producing is being used and there is not enough to recharge the battery

MY ALTERNATOR NOT CHARGING I HAVE A NEW BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR...THE WHITE AND BLUE WIRE COMING FROM THE ALTERNATOR HARNESS IS GETTING POWER. AND ALSO MY BATTERY LIGHT DO NOT COME ON WHEN I TURN THE KEY.

Check the alternator fuse. When the fuse blows the battery will go dead while you are driving even though the battery and charging system are working perfectly. The block fuse is sometimes bolted in but can be purchased at an auto store. If the after market fuse hose has bolt holes instead of slots , open the bolt holes and create slots so you can slide the fuse into place with out having to unbolt the entire fuse block to install it.

How do i change out the battery on my 2007 denali. what is keeping it locked into position

there is usually a small bolt that holds it in place with a rubber block the rubs along the bottom of the battery. Take a flash light and look for the small bolt at the base of the battery,,You need like a 1/4" drive socket with a 6-9" extention on the socket to reach it..Just unscrew the bolt and the bolt and the block will come loose, you just lift it up and out of the way. Remove old battery and reinstall new one in reverse order.

Low battery light comes on, then goes off, followed by the seatbelt light to start flashing. Took for a drive today, same thing happens, then all other warning lights come on and car just goes dead in...

It sounds like your battery is not charging. You may have a good battery and a good alternator but what you need to look for is the alternator fuse . It is usually a square block style fuse , 50 to 80 amps, normally in a fuse box under the dash. If it blows the car will drive till it runs out of battery juice and go bonkers just like you describe right before it dies. The charge light on the dash usually will not warn you of the problem. I think the manufacturers just want to charge you big dollars just to replace a fuse most people are not familiar with.

Dash lights and tail lights are intermittent. Fuses are fine. Sometime they come on after a few blocks of driving.

THERE'S A BAD GROUND SOMEWHERE, NEAR THE BATTERY ON THE FRAME OF THE CAR. THAT SHOULD CORRECT THE PROBLEM. SCRAPE THE WIRE CLEAN AND FRAME THEN PUT IT BACK
