SOURCE: JUST GOT 99 HONDA AACORD, NOTICE OIL LEAK, ON FORNT CAR PASSANGER

Wash the engine if need be to find the source of the leak.  It could be the oil fill cap, the valve cover gasket, the oil filter seal or a dozen other places.

SOURCE: Honda Accord 99 EX Antenna Faulty?

Static won't come from an antenna. It normally comes from your connections. If you've been changing the head, check the contacts where it goes together. The only noise your antenna will pick up, is noise from your ignition. If what you hear is more of a buzzing or clicking that changes as you accelerate, then you should get your ignition checked.

Sounds like the sending unit to the speedometer is failing. This causes the speedometer to jump around and confuses the heck out of the electronics that controls your automatic transmission.

96 Accord VSS or Speedometer Head?

The "needle at 20MPH" is a sure-fire indicator -- it's the speedometer head. This is a common problem in this year.

I haven't found a fix other than replacing the speedometer head, sorry.

I have a 1994 Honda Accord LX sedan and the speedometer just stopped working. My mechanic just put in a transmission that he bought from a junk yard. How do i fix this problem?

I have a 99 accord and my speedometer and odometer did not work. The problem was the VSS vehicle speed sensor. The VSS is located on the transmission. Once I replaced it everything worked fine.

My 1995 Honda Accord V-6 speedometer sticks at 19 mph.

The speedometer works from a steel sheathed cable that is connected to the drive shat at the rear of the gearbox. The internal braided steel cable rotates inside the sheath connecting the drive shaft to the back of the speedometer. The cable sheath connects to the gearbox casing and the internal cable has a lug that engages with a rotating shaft in the gearbox. The cable connects in a similar way to the back of the speedometer. Your problem is likely to be associated with the cable. It can have become disconnected at either end or, more likely, the internal cable has broken.

Its easy to check out. Find where the cable come through the firewall between the passenger compartment and the engine compartment then follow it down to where it connects to the gearbox. Disconnect it and see if it is broken. Alternatively you can find where it connects to the back of the speedometer and disconnect it there. If it is broken the internal cable will come out of the sheath.

Replacing the cable is easy enough but requires some scrambling around under the dash.
