Hi, the MAP semsor is located on the passenger side of the engine in from of the intake manifold (which is the black plastic/composite housing also referred to as the plenum). There are two wires and a little connector leading to it. Below this is another plastic apparatus which you can turn counter clockwise using a 15mm socket once the MAP sensor has been removed. Under here you will find your PCV valve. Make sure when changeing the PCV valve that you replace the O-ring and don't forget that it goes on the new PCV valve starting from the bottom. Another way to describe it is this. Hold the O-ring in the palm of your hand then push the new PCV valve into it.

Take care

Where can I find the map sensor on a 1990 Buick Riviera 3800

You may not have one. If you have a Mass Air Flow sensor, very possible there is no map sensor.
I have a '92 LeSabre, and it does not have a map sensor, only the MAF sensor. I have seen a 2005 Buick Century that has both the MAF and a map sensor. On that one, the MAP sensor is on top of the intake manifold, on the passenger side of car.

1995 Buick LeSabre High idle when starting

You might need to turn adjust your idle. You also may need to check the MAP sensor as well. If it only does it in park, try to see if you can find a leak in the hose. Fell free to ask more questions or contact us. We are here to help in anyway we can. Thank you so much for choosing FixYa.

Where is map sensor

The MAP sensor is a fairly small device, with an electrical connector on it, that clearly penetrates the intake manifold. It will be downstream of the throttle body, but before the manifold divides into individual runners that go to the individual cylinders.
