SOURCE: I'm having the same problem with my 2006 pathfinder

I have a friend who has 2 of these trucks for company vehicles. Nissan put an engine in one at 45,000 miles. The other just blew a head gasket and cracked a piston at 90,000. Keep bugging dealer and keep records of your visits there. Or try another Nissan dealer.

How many miles do you have to drive to reset the computer on 2006 nissan pathfinder

Not something you worry about

It has it's own thing it does, on different
systems, at different times

If your going to inspection, then it wouldn't
hurt to put a code reader or scan tool on, to see
all monitors ran

Dear Sirs, I own Pathfinder 2006. Recently Oil goes out from MAX mark to MIN mark within 8000 km (5000 miles). My dealer tells me that this is regular consumption which is confirmed by NISSAN officials....

  • Well MAX to MIN on the dipstick is a quart of oil in difference. You need to have the oil changed every 3,000 miles (5,000 miles for a synthetic). I don't think that a 2006 Nissan should burn a quart of oil every 5,000 miles. That seems a bit absurd. For much older vehicles this might be true but for a 2006, much more efficient vehicle, it should not burn a quart every 5.000 miles.
  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

Regards, Tony
