Question about 2005 Ford Taurus

1 Answer

The automatic climate control center does not work, and the radio which is in the same unit does not work. I assumed a fuse but checked all the fuses that seem to apply, however I never did see a fuse location for the radio. Any ideas?

Most cars have several fuse boxes. Can you check your owner's manual to make sure you have checked all fuses in all fuse box locations?

When I start my 1994 New Yorker the blower motor blasts on high and blows hot air and none of the dials or the buttons on the climate control head work

Assuming you have already checked all the fuses, you probably have a failed Body Control Computer, which manages operation of climate control, radio, lighting, alarms, and a host of other functions. Your Chrysler technician can confirm that. Be warned: a BCC can cost a LOT of money, as in many '90s Chrysler products, they had to be programmed at the factory for your specific vehicle; a junkyard unit will not work in any car but the one it came in.

Radio & power outlet fuse where is it

They are never the same, assuming that both fuse-boxes have been checked,ie; under the hood and under the dash or in the side panel of center console.
On some models they were under the center on the dash, behind the radio and a/c controls unit.

Speedometer gauge/climate control lights dont work

Look for a dimmer wire,, sounds like your radio dont have the option for the car dimmer switch,,

the power for these lights run through the dimmer wire for the radio. ether its not hooked up or the radio dont have the option for it.

there is a way to bypass the radio dimmer option,, BUT you have to know what your doing or you could fry something.

look for Car Radio Illumination/dimmer Wire: should be Green.

I have the same problem.

I assume this is in regard to the radio/climate control not working.

The fuse will not fix the issue. The problem is in the internal circuitry of the radio/climate control as they are designed to share boards.

Your Solutions:
Take it to an electronics repair shop (hard to find)
Pull a unit from a junk yard and hope it won't go out like this one did.
