The reset switch is where the 'inertia' shutoff switch is which will trip when getting hit hard from behind or hitting a bump in the road.

Hitting the button resets the inertia switch.

2002 ford explorer 4.0 L 6 cylinder not starting cranks get ignition and air fuel reset is not triped just not starting

turn the key to on (but not running) and try to listen for the fuel pump. If you can here it then you know your pump is good. Also make sure you have 12 volts at your battery. make sure that fuse f1.12 which is a 50 amp fuse has 12v with the key on and when its off. make sure the ignition is working, dont assume just cause the lights on the dash light up. check for voltage at the ignition swith as well

Recently heard that a 2003 ford explorer sport trac had a anti-theft swith/button on floorboard that when activated will not allow vehicle to start. Where is that located? thanks

don't know about anything like that. I know Ford did put the emergency fuel shut-off switch on the passengers side floor up under the dash just behing the carpet on Rangers and were sometimes unplugged by passengers with long legs. It has a little red button on it that pushed down. Check to see if you have something like that. Maybe it shuts off when the anti-theft alarm is activated and has to be reset.

Where is the fuel filter in 2002 ford explorers

The fuel filter is on the passenger side under the door near the front wheel well. It is behind a curved shield and a flat plate covering the fuel filter that is marked "fuel filter replace".
There is an aluminum plate held on with 3 13mm bolts. Remove it. Behind it there is a black plastic shield, held on with 2 10mm nuts. Remove that and you will see the fuel filter, and the bracket that holds it on.

My1998 Explorer doesn't start..I need to shut off the fuel shut off button, but don't know where it is..can anyone tell me where it is located

The fuel pump shut-off switch is
located in the passenger’s foot well,
behind the side kick panel. There should be a hole to depress the reset button.
