Question about 2002 Volkswagen Passat

Open Question

2002 Passat GLX - keyless entry has stopped working, batteries on both keyfobs are fine. One at least blinks when a button is pressed, the other keyfob's tiny light doesn't even blink. Memory seats also not working 100% - when the keyfobs worked, the seats & mirrors would move to the proper position based on which key was used to unlock the door. With the keyfobs not working, this doesn't happen. The memory buttons (1,2 and 3) beep when I set them, but don't move the seats and mirrors to the set position (I've checked the red memory button) And lastly on this rant.... The parking assist no longer works. When I put the car in reverse, the passenger side mirror no longer tilts in and down. thanks

SOURCE: Remote entry keyfob control doesn't

If the fob doesn't work with new batteries, then replacement is your only option, so, I believe this is the best way to proceed.

sounds like it ,these fancy new cars and their electronics,a mechanics nightmare to be truthfull.try reading the manual again if still no success then take it back to dealer as you could have a fault in the controlling processor.

2002 VW Passat GLX AWD, stereo stopped working

HI,
Passats can be reset if the radio is pulled out and the fuse on the back is removed. Wait for 2 mins, reinsert the fuse and turn the radio on. If this doesn't work, please take it to the dealer for the unlocking of the code, for which he may charge you some fee.

Do let me know if it was helpful.

Regards
Kanu

Keyless entry wont work 2002 chevy s10

The only way to program them is with a scan tool so you'll need to visit your local dealer to have it done. Here is how it is done.

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Use the scan tool in order to access programming: Vehicle Control System/Computer Integrating System/Module Setup/BCM/Program Key Fobs.
  3. Press the START soft key on the scan tool. Important: The scan tool must stay connected until all of the transmitters are programmed.
  4. Press and hold the LOCK button and the UNLOCK button simultaneously on one transmitter. After a delay of 5-10 seconds, the scan tool will indicate that the transmitter is programmed.
  5. Repeat the previous step in order to program up to 4 transmitters.
  6. Remove the scan tool.
  7. Operate the transmitter functions in order to verify correct system operation.

The remote is fine - your problem is the lock actuators in the doors. They're a bit of a pain to replace - so, you may want to have a professional do it.
