I can see your dilema, you have a buick not one of those little 3 cylinder cars. One easy thing to try first which can save you some money is first off write yourself a little diagram where the wires go for the spark plugs, then switch places with the 2 different coils. If the 1 and 4 dont spark in their alternative position and the 2 and 3 spark, all you will simply need to do is just buy a new coil. If not you will need the ignition module sitting right below them. I hope this helps.

2001 buick century P0304 step on gas engine light starts flashing

P0304 is engine misfire #4 cylinder Several things can cause a misfire #1 electrical which you have covered #2 Mechanical Test engine compression is should be around 150 cranking and 120 running . internal valve train components can cause bad compression and the valves then self. #3 fuel injector can be the cause suggest swapping with a know good cylinder and see if misfire follows injector.

What is the firing order for 1988 Buick Century 6cyl

The firing order for a 4-cylinder 2.2L Buick Century is: 1-3-4-2. The distributor rotates in a clockwise direction, with #1 plug wire located at the upper left of the distributor The firing order on a 3.1 v6 is simple. 1-2-3-4-5-6 See a diagram of the 3.1 and 3.8 here. http://www.2carpros.com/forum/1999-buick-century-spark-plug-firing-order-vt177159.html http://autorepair.about.com/od/enginefiringorders1/
