Question about 2004 Kia Sorento

1 Answer

I hit a raccoon and it hit the skid place but dented it and hit what i think is a drain plug on the radiator. it now has a slow drip at the very bottom left if you are looking at it from the front. I just want to know if it is the drain plug and if you can tell me where the drain plug is on a 2004 Kia Sorento EX.

Do i need to remove anything to get to the radiator drain plug on 2002 chrysler concorde lxi?

the drain "bung" or "spikot" will be located on either the drive or passenger side bottom corner of the radiator. in some cases you need to remove a splash guard or skid plate in order to access it. once you find it you should be able to slip a 3/8th or 1/2 inch hose over the end in order to run it neatly into a container

How do i replace a thermostat on a 2003 mazda protoge lx

I can remember step by step, but you will probably need to remove the skid plate under the engine area directly below the radiator. After the radiator is completely cooled down locate the drain plug on the bottom of the radiator. Place a large bucket under and drain it. You may need to loosen the cap on top to allow it to drain quicker. Then follow the radiator hose from the BOTTOM of the radiator to the engine block. That is where it is located. The hose will connect to a cap held on by 2 or 3 bolts. Remove that to get to it. Notice how sits in there when you take it out to make sure you sit the new one in correctly.

Had a reply in the form of a question. Looking for the answer. Last service the people informed of a leak from the rear main on the 2001 Frontier 4 x 4 six cyl with 70,000 plus miles. Had not been driven...

does your truck have a skid plate ...I think it does ...the place where you get it changed is not wiping the skid plate off due to where the oil drain plug is some of the old oil gets caught in the skid plate and will drip out over time ...that seems to be the problem...if not let me know

Changing the thermastat 2001 jeep grand cherokee

Hi,

As in most designs, the radiator drain plug would be at the lowest part of the radiator. However, in some instances, it would not be readily accessible due to some other components such as a skid plate, fan cover brackets and others. An alternative is to loosen the lower radiator hose (radiator end) which should serve the same purpose.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Drain the radiator

Hi There, Facing the engine there is a drian on the lower lefthand side of the radiator. it has a wingnut like head that turns counter clockwise one full turn and the fluid will drian out right below the suport. But be carefull number one its plastic, two it is very hard two get too, I had cut a grove aceoss a 8 mm socket to put over the wingnut shaped pedcock so i could turn it it is almost imposable two get a wrench on it. and three when I was done and closed it, I could not stop a slow slow drip about every 15 sec, My sug is two remove the lower radator hose on the right side, to drain it when its all done and said you wont have this drip problem. If any one knows how to stop that drip out of the plasic pedcock let me know. Thanks
