Question about Pontiac Montana

1 Answer

2000 Montana, ABS light is on most of the time. It also started to make a whining noise the odd time when the light not on and brakes are applied. New pads , ect were done a month ago. The van is still braking but pedal goes farther down than normal. Could this be a relay that is going.

2000 silverado feels like the brakes are stuck on and ABS light on

You may be right in that the brakes are applied.
The ABS would need to be checked for trouble codes to proceed.
You could also lift one wheel at a time to see if the brakes are on.

Indicator lights for oil ABS, etc., won't turn off in 2000 Pontiac Montana. Tried the turn ignition on, push accessorator pedal to floor thing others had mentioned and it didn't help unfortunately. Any...

I really need to know exactly which lights are on. If it is the change oil in the information box then you turn the ignition switch on, push the gas pedal down fully 3 times, turn the ign off. Then start the car and if it does not come on, then it has been reset. Sometimes you have to do that several times before it will reset, not sure why. I'm not sure what you mean by ABS and etc.

Sound when car sitting / ABS and Brake lights

The ABS module when active makes noise when it is trying to control the vehicle by applying "leave" and "press" mechanism. If the lights are coming on , it is possible that the ABS needs to be fixed. Take it to the authorized service centre to electornically diagnose and reset the codes.
