The tensioner has a 15mm bolt that you can use a wrench on, the longer the wrench the better.
i ussually just grasp the belt and pull towards the front of the car and off the pulleys.
its kinda hard but a timesaver.
you can install it that way also but it takes patience and some
strength

I need info on how to replace the water pump on my 1996 2.5 ltr 6 cyl sebring

Go to your local parts store (Advance, Orielly, etc. ) and rent their puller meant for a Chrysler. remove the crank bolt and go to it. then remove the covers, the tensioner and the belt. Replace the pump, being carefull to place the bolts where they were and SEAL them with RTV sealant. Reverse of dis-assembly. Compress the tension er until you can fit an Allen wrench in the tiny hole to hold it until the belt it set and the timing is CORRECT. This is critical. then, VIOLA! crusin' on down the highway! and GO!

I've replace the head on my 94 eagle talon with a 2.0L engine and i'm having trouble getting the timing belt back on. Is there an easy way to put the timing belt back on

Did you compress the timing belt tensioner?

There should be a small hole in the upper part of the timing belt tensioner housing and also on the end of the timing belt tensioner plunger, and the plunger must be compressed back into the tensioner housing until you can place a small allen wrench or something similar through the holes in the tensioner housing and the plunger to hold the plunger down and from putting tension on the timing belt until the timing belt has been installed.

Once you are sure that the timing belt is installed properly then you can pull out what you have holding the tensioner plunger and allow the timing belt to be tensioned.

If you are unsure of the procedure to compress the tensioner, or of the condition of the timing belt tensioner, then just replace the tensioner, it will come already compressed with a pin through it holding the plunger, and do not remove the holding pin until the timing belt is properly installed with all of the timing marks in their correct places.

How to replace belt on 2002 camry

if it a serpentine belt( one belt all the way around pulleys and tensioner) note the location of the belt before removal. Find the tensioner with a 3/8 drive cutout in the frame and compress it to relieve the tension on the belt. the reverse the same procedure for install.
If it a multiple belt installation located the mechanical tension for each belt.
but by you asking i would have it professionally done

Cambelt installation problems on a subaru legacy 94

There is a belt tensioner on the front of the engine block that needs to be taken off and compressed(use a vise if possible) you can use a small allen key or something of similar size to lock piston intoethe compressed position . Then reinstall. I am assuming that the belt routing is correct but the compression of the tension cylinder needs to be done for proper belt tension.

2001 Ford Taurus fan belt replacement

16mm socket along with a 3/8 braker bar or rachet if the car has a remote starter disconnect battery you will see the belt tensioner holding the belt down you will have to put the rachet on there to pry the tensioner away from the belt make sure fingers stay clear and once you get the tensioner off the belt take the other hand and slide the old belt off the alternator I always save the old belt because the new one snaps now you can put the new one on going backwards from the way you removed the old one

1996 Mazda s/w 2.0 ltr M5 12 valve eng# GV10E - engine turns over floods readily won't start does have spark to plugs

Sounds like your timing is out, check your cambelt hasn't snapped first, if it looks ok look to see if the belt tensioner is ok and hasn't collapsed causing the belt to slip. also if the engine is spinning over really quick you'll want to do a compression test on each cylinder.
