The park gear in the wiper motor is broken, It is just a plastic gear in there that parks the wipers in the lower position, they won't sell you the part, you have to buy the whole thing. I would go to a junk yard or check ebay, a lot of cars will fit, crown vic, lincoln, etc. The dealer wants a couple hundred bucks for it. I tried to fix mine with a bunch of plastic gears from radio shack, but had to buy a motor on line. Check it out, hope this helps.

How do I take off the wipers to replace wind sheild

Depending on vehicle. MOst wiper arms are held on with nuts and are covered by plastic caps/covers. Once the nuts are removed, the wiper arm can be gently rocked back and forth until it seperates from the wiper pivot. If the arm is very stubborn and doesn't want to come off.... there is a wiper arm puller available to remove it.

I moved my windsheild wiper arms to remove the snow. now the driver side windsheild wiper keeps going off the wind sheild

Where is the blade when switch is off? Some of the GM cars in the 2000 years had problems with the post where the wiper arm attaches. The post will strip the groves when trying to move heavy snow. You will have to remove the arm, and reinstall it when the wiper switch is off.

The wind sheild wipers decided to turn on permenently. when the car is on the wipers are on. the normal on off switch does all funtions normally except turn them off. The dealer says we need a new wiper...

At the wiper motor there is a 'park' switch. This is to make the wipers stop in the proper position. This same motor has been used for years, so check at a wrecker for the parts. ok

My wind sheild wipers went out in my 87 ford ranger and Im not sure how to fix it?

Check the fuse first. Make sure there is power to the motor. If it's still dead the most likely cause is the wiper motor
