Question about 2006 Toyota Sienna

2 Answers

I am stranded at work with a 2006 Toyota Sienna in the parking lot that will not start. When I first got in and turned the ignition the engine turned over normally. Since I am near a very noisy freeway I could not hear if the engine had started so stopped turning the key to look at the tacometer needle to see if it was running. Once determining that it was not running, I turned the key again and got nothing but a rapid clicking sound. After repeated attempts all I get is that rapid repeating sound. Please let me know if this is something simple that I can do as I am a very long way from home and have no one to call. Thanks, Joe

Your battery is dead or dieing, first check the water in it. Sometimes it will fire right up when it is filled up, then if that doesn't do anything, get it jumped, you can get it home and work on it, or get it to walmart, get the battery tested, and replaced if necessary. Check it out, Hope this helps.

Yeah, I am about 99% sure it is your battery, low on water, low on juice, or dirty connections, if the voltage checks out, it could be the dirt, if the water is low, I have seen many batteries come back to life just from being low on water, and the starter ticking is a signature of a bad or low battery. If you have some tools, you can do these checks , but if you away, you will need to get jumped and it should run long enough to get you to walmart or home.don't shut it off. Hope this helps.

Toyota Sienna 2006 does not start. It has a good battery.

Make sure the battery has enough in it to turn the motor,,it is possible the alternator could go that quick..but check the gear selector (make sure it's in park or neutral) could also cause your problem

I changed the battery in my 2001 Toyota Sienna and now my radio won't work.

Press station 1 and 6 and turn the ignition key to on position but donot start the vehicle, you will see the unlock code flashing, note the number that is your radio code, read your vehicle manual and insert code to unlock.

How to reset maint req lite on a 2005 sienna

Reset the "MAINT REQD" Light on Toyota Sienna:
  1. With the car started (ignition on), set the LCD odometer readout to total mileage (not trip A or B).
  2. Turn the car off (ignition key to the OFF position).
  3. Push in AND HOLD the button/knob that switches the odometer
  4. Turn key to ON position without starting the car. You will notice the maintenance light blink and go out.
  5. Release the odometer button/knob.
  6. Turn key to OFF position.
  7. That's it! The "MAINT REQD" light has been reset to warn you to change your oil in another 5,000 or 7,500 miles or so.

Hope helped with this (remember rated this help) Good luck.

Bypass the fuse? Bypassing a fuse is a fire hazard in the first place. When they worked on that everything should work normally plus the added feature. Not compromising anything. Take it back there and have it done properly or put it back the way it was, and have it done somewhere else. You work hard for your money so you deserve a good job on your car.
