Question about 1985 Chevrolet Cavalier

1 Answer

I have a 1985 Chevy Cavalier. We were driving and it died. we got the car pulled to the side of the road and it would not start. It will turn over, but it will not start. We thought it was the injector, cause it was not spraying. We replaced it, but still it will not start. Any suggestions.

If you were not getting fuel to the injector it is probably the fuel pump.

Try disconnecting battery for about 20 min then reconnect. Then turn the key to the on position but do not start it for about 15 seconds, then turn the key off, then try starting it. This should reset the computer.

I have a 97 chevy cavalier with a 2.2 liter engine and an automatic trans. i replaced the head gasket and it ran fine for about a month. Then it suddenly started sputtering and stalling, it also had a loss...

you need to take the car to a muffler shop and have the catylitic converter changed... the converter is stopped up not letting the exaust leave the engine thus stopping it.

Cavalier dies

you need to find the fuel pressure release around the fuel rail press the little tab when the car dies. If there is no fuel coming out from that point, your fuel pump is going.
