Question about 1993 Buick LeSabre

Theres no power taking off or going uphill. i just changed one of the ignition coils and that took care of a missfiring problem but it had no power even before i had the missfiring problem

It may be starving for fuel, change your fuel filter and see if this helps.

Move the ignition coil to another cylinder and see if the problem moves. If it does it is the ignition coil replace it otherwise it is probably the fuel injector.

Check the ignition coils and make sure there is spark going to the cylinder. If there is make sure the cylinder is getting fuel. If there is fuel check the valves both intake and exhaust to make sure nothing is clogged. Other than that unsure sorry,

My 99 volkswagon pssat has a missfire in the number two cylender. i changed the spark plug and coil pack. the code is still there when i took it back to be scanned?


Did you have it cleared after you replaced parts? if not it may take 50 ignition cycles to clear it out. but if you feel it missing still you may have a sticky injector.

Yes, definitely. I just had the same problem on my 97 xj6... car was misfiring, running very rough at idle. My last ignition coil was bad. I had it replaced and solved the problem. Try it yourself first. The repair shop wanted almost $400 to get a new coil and replace it for me. I found a coil at familycar.com for $57. I pulled one coil out and the boot was slightly melted at the end. Be very careful taking them out as nothing is cheap on our vehicles... Good luck!

Code claims multiple misfires changed the plugs and it continues to sputter and backfire especially when going uphill. Fuel filter? coil pack? plug wires?


check your high tension leads or plug wires. If you find one out of the correct resistance range, about 7ohms per foot, dont discount that the missfiring has damaged the coil pack for that cylinder as the wasted spark had no where to got except hammering the coil pack. As for the fuel filter refresh them often as the standards of fuel from the pump can vary

What does the code "misfire on bank 1 mean" on a diagnostic code for a 2000 lincoln navigator mean?


Do you mean "missfire on cylinder 1", code P0301? If so, that means that the computer has detected incomplete combustion in the #1 cylinder, which would be the front passenger side cylinder. There are many potential causes to a cylinder missfire ranging from worn / bad ignition components, clogged / bad fuel injector or even internal engine damage.

However the most common cause, especially on ford vehicles is a bad ignition coil. When trying to determine the cause of a missfire on an engine such as the one in your Navigator i start with removing the plug and checking for carbon tracing, excessive plug gap or contaminants on the plug. If that checks out ok i then swap the ignition coil from the missfiring cylinder to one that isn't. For example, I would swap the ignition coil from #1 to #2 and clear the codes. Then drive around until the light comes back. If it comes back with a missfire on cylinder #2 then you know the cause is the ignition coil and it has to be replaced. If it doesn't then it is something else causing the missfire which will require a bit more diagnostics.

How many miles are on your Navigator? Have the plugs ever been replaced? If you have close to 100k it would be a good idea to replace all of the plugs. Be careful when removing the plugs, it's not difficult to pull the threads right out of the head when removing the plug.

well if you need to change the coil because of a missfire then the engine codes should tell you wich cylinders were missfireing the just see wich one goes to that cylinder
those coils just dont go bad normaly
why you replacing it?

Engine missfire #5 cyl. changed plugs, plug wires, replaced 2/5 coil wth known good coil. fuel pressures is within speccs. plugs were not fouled vehicle has good compression all cyls. vacumn is good and...


The only thing you didn`t mention is the ignition module.It is under the coils and that is where the coils get there power from.Replace the module and I`m sure this will take care of your problem.Hope this helps.Good luck.

po352 is ignition coil B primary/secondary circuit malfunction---ignition coil #2----p0300 is random /multible cylinder missfire, muti cylinder missfire detected!!

Ignition timing would be #1 on the list. Also check your plug wires, or change them. Check your air filter, and change the fuel filter. It could also be your egr system, faulty ignition coil, or a vacuum leak at the intake manifold.
