Yes i change the spark plugs and wires,, coil,, but it still giving me problems starting still i have not changed the gas filter ,, so what should i do next

Change the fuel filter it may be dirty, and not letting much fuel through. not enough to start engine right away.

Check the ignition timing is correct. I see that you have changed the wires so I suggest that you recheck the firing order for the plugs as it is easy to get it wrong when replacing the leads.

Replaced bad fuel pump, installed new relay and fuel filter, engine turns over but is not firing on..... positive the fuel pump is pumping gas and checked to see if gas was going thru fuel filter. Tried...


Hi, Ok you have confirmed that it's not a fuel problem. You need to check for spark. Pull the coil wire off of the coil(secondary lead-looks like a spark plug wire) Have some one crank it over and listen for a popping sound. IF yes, spark is at the coil, that means all ignition sensors are working. Next check for spark at ends of wires after cap. IF no replace cap and rotor. IF yes remove a couple spark plugs and check for fouling(wet, fuel etc...) IF yes replace or clean plugs and retest for starting. IF no spark is present at coil you need to scan computer and watch for rpm signal. IF no rpm signal, replace crankshaft sensor with OEM delco part. BIGGEST problem with these engines is Cap and Rotor burn out.

When i connect my detector to my computer it reads P0300 random/multiple cylinder misfire detected. The van runs really rough..almost like its not getting enough gas or its misfiring. Not sure if to start...


I would change the spark plug first as it is lease expensive, if that improves but is still running rough then I would change the coils, you might want to check the sensor,also. Hope this helped Tim

I have a 2000 ford mustang with a 3.8l v6. Well I know it had been sitting for a while. But anyways when I go to start it, it will try forever to start if I tap the gas while turning the key it will start...


yes your plug wires are bad. this sounds like a fuel system problem (ie plugged filter, flat injector weak pump) a good tune up will take care of it all. the Ford dealer will have all the correct factory parts as well as ford trained technicians to do the job right. also in today's market place you would be surprised how competitively priced they are.

test to make shore you ignition coil is working" unplug any plug wire and then try starting it...you should her the ticking from the ark of electrisity from the coil to the engine block its self... first: be shore youve connected the spark plug wires in to the right slots on the ignition coil second: make shore the wiring harness just upstream from the air filter is connected"without it my montero want start" third:make shore all harmesses are connected and tight.... forth: now turn the car on..but dont start it.. and see if the check engine light goes off.... fifth:try giving it a lil bet of gas when trying to start..... thats all i can think of, srry for spelling...hope it helps

If all the coils are giving spark now,then you moat likely have gas fouled plugs now,so change them out with new ones,all 8 of them.If you do not have spark on all plug wires,pull the timing belt cover,and align the cam shaft and the cam,to see if the belt has jumped.If It hasn`t,replace the crankshaft sensor.

My 1995 bmw still wont start! I need HELP!!


Yes, this could be the problem. has the car been sitting a while? how has it been running? make sure your battery have a full charge. Remove the plug wires and spray a bit of wd where the plugs are threaded in and let sit overnight. Hopefully the juice will penetrate and let you turn them and get them out in the am. If no spark is happening anywhere (wires or plugs), we obviously have an ignition issue. check all connections at the battery and at the coil pack. If the beemer hasn't seen a tune, this is the time. Consider plugs/wires/coil pack. Change the fuel filter as well. Before I forget, when changing plugs and wires and such, disconnec the negative cable.

Toyota Tercel '92 keeps quitting


This sounds exactly like a faulty ignition coil.

The coil is pretty easy to change. Just obtain a replacement, and observe how the existing coil is fitted. Detach any wires fitted to the existing coil, and plug them into the placement. Then unbolt the old coil, and bolt the new one into place.

It will only take you 10-15 minutes or so to replace the coil.

Vihicle died won't start


My 92 Subaru would not start. New rotor, cap, replaced fuel filter. No gas getting to filter. When gas trickled in carb, runs like a top. I think the fuel pump out.
