You didn't list the year, but false ABS activation is usually caused by dirt or metal particles on the wheel speed sensor. Read the post below to find causes for ABS lights

Abs and trac light stays on

rust can cause an abs sensor not to work-it sticks to the sensor -which is a magnet that reads the wheel turn inside the axle hub area- you can try blowing it out with compressed air- cheers Denny

Most ABS lights are caused by a fault with one of the wheel speed sensors. If your brakes are working good, there should be no further bleeding necessary. Remove the wheels and inspect the speed sensors for loose connections, bad wires, or oil and grease buildup on the sensor face. Don't soak the sensors with cleaner. Use a cloth dampened with brake parts cleaner and just wipe the surface clean. If the light stays on, you may have to have it cleared with a a scan tool.

Abs light comes on sometimes while driving

You need to have an abs code scanner hooked up to it to find out why the light is on. If there is an advanced auto or an autozone parts store near you, go there, they can hook up one for free, takes about a minute, if not, you'll have to pay somewhere else, and it isn't cheap.

96 legacy abs comes on after bump

If you know how an ABS system works ... or don't know how they (are supposed to) work, there is a signal from each wheel, which are assumed to be turning at the exact same speed. But if one "locks up" during braking, the signal from that wheel stops ... and then the system releases the brake on that wheel, then immediately re-applies that brake, so you may hear or feel pulsations of brake application. That's the way they are SUPPOSED to work. What happens if the device picking up the signal from one or more wheels has a FLAKY signal, because, for instance, the mounting for the sensor is loose ... or bent, so that sometimes it does not sense the signal? Then you have the scenario you have described above!

My abs light and trac off light are both on

Def the wheel bearings/hub/speed sensor. I just bought a new wheel bearing comes with the hub and speed sensor as one. Runs about 80-100 dollars though but abs/traction light went off and stays off now.
