There is cooling fan relay on 1988 frod tempo.
The cooling fan relay is located right next to the blower motor on the firewall on the passengers side.
You also have a cooling fan controller assembly that is located on the passengers side inside the vehicle behind the glove box.If relay is checked ok then,
Try running a hot wire from battery to fan see if it kicks on that way then you have a bad wire or swtich if it dont then the fans motor is gone. Also wire an override switch into the dash for fan and check.
Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

Need help with the cooling system

Check and see if your fans are kicking on. and if they are, are they staying on till the temperature of the engine drops. if the motors are worn they may not be spinning fast enough to dissipate the heat from the coolant. If they are not running check the fan relays located in the power distribution box in the engine compartment. If the relays are good you need to check the fan control temperature switch.

92 ford tempo engine cooling fan wont run

Its probably a relay (big funny looking fuse thingy), or your thermostatic control unit. Search any fuse panel in the car for anything thats labeled fan, and try replacing it. I'd suggest checking under the hood first, then move to your internal fuse block

1991 Ford tempo gl overheats when in idle and how do I replace power window motor?

Overheating at idle is usually due to the engine cooling fan not working. Could be a bad fan relay (most common cause), bad fan thermostat, or a bad fan motor.
Replacing the power window motor is quite difficult, I would leave this to the pros unless you are really mechanically inclined. I replaced one on an Aerostar, but I don't think I'd try it again.
