Question about 1998 Dodge Caravan

1 Answer

I just changed the battery in my 1998 Dodge Caravan. The car now starts fine, but the lights on the buttons for a/c, fan, back wiper, etc. are now all blinking. This looks like some kind of warning signal. The buttons for the a/c, fan, etc. work when I press them, but the lights are still blinking. I disconnected the battery and connected it again, and the same thing is happening. HOw can I get the lights back to normal?

SOURCE: Blinking panel button lights

That has to do with your computer for your body controls, such a/c, heater, wipers, etc...
Most common problem is drinks spilling into the computer which is right between the cup holder. It will eventually cause a problem with a/c most likely.

Same problem with my 98 grand caravan! Turn heater on high with air directional toward your face. Press & hold top back wiper button & bottom back wiper button (1 button between) until all buttons light up. Release buttons. Then it will go thru reset process. After a few mins. If top button is still lit up, repeat steps again. Found instructions written in back of my manual. Worked like a charm!

What does it mean when the ac button lights are blinking the ac buttons-ac and circulating button lights blink continuously and you cannot shut them off at all this just began after the car wouldnt...

it is needing to be calibrated because of dead battery.i cant remember for sure but i think you had to push rear wiper and recirc buttons at the same time and hold them down a couple of seconds. engine has to be running and at normal operating temp. lights will flash and vents will change heat to cold etc. if it fails any test the lights will just keep blinking untill repaired and recalibrated.

Turn it on, Put the heater on high. While the heater is on high hold down the rear wiper, rear washer and recycle air buttons (all at the same time) for 5 seconds. It will reset your heater computer.

Lights are blinking on ac control after i changed the battery on

Either needs recalibration, or control unit. Press the wiper and wiper washer buttons simultaniously, and wait for them to start blinking one then the other. Then press the recirc button and the washer button same as above. Should be calibrated after this.

when you changed the battery you loosened or broke the body ground wire just follow the ground cable from the battery to the engine and try to find a smaller wire that is disconnected or broken
