NO, that an extra on your car, just to let you know how fast your engine is turning, has nothing to do with emissions.

Why is my indicator light staying on

Most likely, engine misfire or a defective oxygen sensor.

My engine light is on manual says engine fault with adverse effect on exhaust emissions

That is correct but not an exact definition or description of what's happening to your vehicle. It could also affect catalytic converter and at times engine or it's components. You should have the vehicle diagnosed.

Check engine light on

Oftentimes the check engine light will come on with no adverse effects. the computer may have detected an intermittent problem. The light may go off on it's own it a few days. I would recommend "scanning" the system and retreve the trouble code and determine what is really wrong.

Im trying to find the elecrtical fuel sysytem schematics for 1989 chrysler lebaron

Check your local library or auto parts store for the Hayne's Manual for your model. The diagrams are in the back and in the chapter on the Emissions Control system.

What are the typical symptoms of a bad egr valve on a pt cruiser?

A vacuum leak at the egr valve can cause rough idle and almost stalling condition.

A non functioning egr valve that is plugged up won't affect driveability, but NOx will be in the exhaust at normal operating temperature which may not be good for an emissions test if they test for that in your area.

Good luck on this repair.

Emissions egr came up on the computer test i replace it now oxygen sensor are coming up its has 4

a defective EGR valve will at time effect 02 sensor functions. But even though you vehicle does have 4 02 sensor. The DTC (diagnostic trouble code) will indicate which 02 sensor is faulty. ask the tech who performed the test on your vehicle to tell you which sensor has malfunctioned. or get the dtc code from him then google the dtc for your vehicle and you will have the answer to your question

I failed the emisson's test. I have a 97 Nissan

P0136 indicates a bad O2 sensor. This reports poor emission performance back to the car's PCM (computer)
P0325 indicates a bad "Knock" sensor which would adversely effect drivability as far as performance is concerned. Only way to fix these 2 problems is replacement of the 2 components.

Indicator Lamp Warning

could be but it comes up for a reason
I suspect a cat converter malfunction and the explanation to keep the rpms lower indicates that it is not functioning properly or has failed and could be blocking the exhaust system
It could be a simple O2 sensor ( one after te cat converter) that has malfunctioned
don't wiat for the next service but have it checked out by an accredited service center and have the fault codes read
