Question about 2000 Honda Accord

1 Answer

Hi my 2006 Accord (Acura) have this weird knocking sound when going slow and turning my steering left and right. This problem has been with me for quite awhile. The mechanic had tried many ways to find out the cause but couldnt . the strage thing is that whenever he took out some parts and put back again the sound is gone but it comes back again afet a few days. I have serviced the steering rack and changed my front absorber but the problem still exist. Any experts care to share your experience?

There is a steering arm joining the two front wheels, if the tie rod ends have come loose it may result in only one wheel turning.

Chevy cobalt noise knocking in front end when you turn the steering wheel from left to right. Also knocking noise over bumps.

Hello and welcome. this noise is normally caused by a noisey steering I-shaft. there is a steering shaft that goes in between the steering column and the steering gear. this shaft has a slip joint that becomes noisey. all you need to do is lube the i-shaft with some special lube and you will be good to go

When I turn the car to the right it will make a knocking sound. What could be causing this?

Two things come to mind: 1) A frozen ball joint in the steering arm, 2) A defective steering rack. Make sure power steering fluid is topped, if you hear a whining noise while turning.

the front drive couplings are worn this is not serious so as long as the rubber boots are intact and not split just ignore the noise till it starts making the noise in the straight ahead position

The knocking noise sounds like it could be a CVjoint going out. This noise only happens when turning I assume? That would be another shop fix because Ican not tell you on here how to replace it but it needs to get done right away. As far as the seat goes. Could you move it back into the correct place with the operating buttons after it moved you? Was there a chance you setyour purse or some other object down by the control switch that made it move?

My 2005 acura tl has a weird sound when its really cold outside. Its worse when your turn the car.

Hi:
If you are getting a growling sound, when it is cooler out side, and it happens when you are moving the steering wheel, then definitely consider your power steering pump as a suspect. Check to make sure that it is full of fluid. If the noise occurs when the wheel is moved, it isn't a safety factor, but won't get any better.
