Thanks! I thought that may be one reason. But I was also wondering if the clutch switch or low coolant could cause this problem?

Timing belt was changed. Now AC wont kick on. CHanged relay..nothing will kick on when jumped

I presume you changed it? Tripple check your work. Something was not put back right or wire/s were disturbed. There may be a
fuse on the wire to the AC Compressor's clutch.

Where is compressor clutch located?

It is turned by (usually) the main serpentine belt. When the AC is not in use the clutch spins freely. When the AC "kicks" in what is really happening is the clutch in the compressor is locking up and the belt makes the pulley turn, compressing the freon.

Hv/ac not working

Check pressure of refrigerant 134. Pressure maybe low so the compressor clutch will not kick in. Refrigerant are available in most automotive parts store. Just make sure you do not over charge the system because it gives you the same indication.

My a/c pump is going out and I want to bypass it.

If you don't have the AC turned on the clutch in the compressor just free spins. If the clutch is going out on the compressor then you will need to remove the belt from it and either get the belt for your motor with no AC or find a smaller belt that will work. The main issue you will run into is if that is run by a serpentine belt in which case there will be no option but to repair the problem. TO make sure the AC is not kicking in disconnect the electrical plug from the compressor in the engine compartment.

The AC system is making an purge noise not sure if when the compressor kicks on the belt slips or what because it only does it while driving not at idle. In the cab windows up sounds like purge widows down...

If it is a purge noise the highside pressure may be getting to high and relieving pressure.Usually this can occur if there is too much freon or a restriction in the ac system. The defroster utilzes the ac as well which is why you can hear this. From your description it sounds as if the compressor clutch bearing is going bad.

A/c sounds rough when i turn it on and there is a smell of rubber coming from the engine what could it be and how can i fix it

it may be the a/c clutch is locking up and your belt is sliding on a locked up a/c compressor's pulley. so check your belt for sign of burning and check your a/c clutch and pulley

I replaced my ac belt because the other one broke. The belt is on correctly and pulleys are all functioning but now the AC doesn't kick on. It's 97 today. HELP!

Check the tension of the belt around the a/c clutch. The clutches can be overtightened but of course not to loose either. They also have tendency to wear out. Did the A/C work before you changed the belt? If it did, it would probably have to do with the clutch.
