your asking me something now ,havent seen one in years but the cables can be connected over with time and patience and a bit of solder is good as it doesnt corrode ,now the ballast resistor fitted with the siemans was a different type of circuit and as it was a bosch then wire it as the bosch was wired ,because the ballast resistor was used in conjuction with a 9v coil and when you cranked the engine it allowed full 12v voltage to the coil to give an increased spark under crank load ,never did work that well to be honest and the resistors often packed up so use it as the bosch system .On the siemans you had a wire from starter connection on ignition switch to coil and the ignition feed went through the resistor to the coil ,Simple enough but them resistors were a right pain in all honesty

You might try salvage yards for wiring harness & possibly Ebay. I tend to agree w/BMW cutting out sensor opens up a whole new can of worms. Check with independent shops locally.

under the right side of the boot lid is a wire-ring loom that has a green wire with a pink trace in it you need to get hold of this wire and supply 12v to it this will activate the boot lock actuator and open the boot. Use an external battery and be sure to have a good earth

I DRIVE A 1999 520 SERIES AND WHEN ACCELERATING THE ACS & EML LIGHT COMES UP, AND THE CARE BEGINGS TO LIMP. Any ideas on what could solve the problem


Eitther the trottle valve or the wiring loom ( the plug that plugs into the trolttle valve, the crimping gets corroded.

Try opening the front doors whiles play music as kinks or breaks in the speaker wireing loom can cause this.

Have a BMW certified mechanic check the cars computer I had a similar problem on a 528i the chip for the transmission had gone bad and bridging the chip allowed the transmission to shift properly if this is the case replace the chip.

remove the ignition loom and try to start the car with a screw driver inserted in the loom acting as the key.this will determine wheather the ignition lock is defctive.do not over look the startor motor

BMW Fused Bulb Warning Light comes on intermittently


This sounds as though this could be either a wiring fault usually found to be a broken wire in the boot lid loom. by the right hand hinge you will find a corrugated rubber hose that houses the loom, you will need to check the wires inside this. also check for corrosion on the ten pin terminal block on the back of the light unit.

this sounds like a broken wire inside the corrugated tubing for the boot/trunk loom located by the right hand hinge on the lid

Trunk ajar sensor stuck in on mode


the connection is the problem you will find broken or frayed wire inside wiring loom at the left trunk hindge a quick fix
