Question about Pontiac Firebird
It sounds more like the anti theft device has been kicked on, Does it have one? Do you know where the switch is? If not, disconnect the battery and let it set for 5 mins, then put it back. I don't know what happened but it doesn't sound good. Do you have another key with the chip in it? I know that those chips don't go bad, GM will replace the lock on the column and glue the chip key inside the dash so that the computer can read it. Hope this helps.
