Question about 2000 Volkswagen Beetle
Remove the cover from the inside of your trunk.Use a flat screwdriver to pop it out. There is a notch on one side so you can slip the flat head screwdriver in to pop it out. When you take that part off, there will be a black knob that needs to be unscrewed totally to release the back light casing. Along the rear fenders where the lights are, there are two gaps. The inside gap (nearest hatch back door), is a release tab/clip on the light inside between the gaps.Insert a butter knife or something slim and pull out the casing (it takes a little force to pull it out). After you pull out the casing, you'll find two light bulb holders, (one is for the turn signal, and the other is for your brake light).Turn the brake light holder counter clockwise and remove then swap out the bulb and reverse the procedure to re assemble.
