Yes the key for your car is chipped and has failed...replacement is necessary and the new key will need to be mated to your car...your dealer will tell you how...its no big deal. Unfortunately the key will be rather expensive.

My electronic key won't start my car

If your check engine light is on or you have low oil pressure, the ecu will not let the vehicle remote start. All of the doors must be locked, and the hood cannot be open. Are all of your doors locking remotely before you try to remote start the vehicle?

The guy a bought it of.says problem with keys or sumthing i have 1 key that u have to put into the door 2 open them do you think it could just be thestarter motor that's gone central locking works

You have a small plain key that opens the doors but when you put it in the ignition the car won't start?

if so, the key that he didn't give you has the immobiliser chip it it which is part of the vehicle's antitheft system. You can only get that key from the dealer and after programming to match the chip the the lock, the vehicle will start. Last one I priced was $350.

Where can you find the ignition to use the spare key thats attached to the keypad on the 2014 dodge charger

I'm trying to understand what you are talking about.. If you are talking about the little metal key attached to the fob., that key is to manually unlock the door in case the electronics on the car fails, or the battery goes dead. There is no ignition key way.. If it is push button start there is no other way to manually start the vehicle.

Will door still work with key if code changed

The code is for the electronic lock only, and the door lock will open. If this is an ignition key, the code needs to match in order to start the vehicle.

Lost set of keys, alarm was on car locked. Found spare key only, it will open door, alarm goes off, but the key won't start engine. It will turn in ignition, but dead! It's a Chevy HHR 2006! HELP

Close the doors. Lock the doors using the buttons on the key fob. Use the fob to again unlock the doors. The key should then work the ignition. If this will not work, you will have to tow your vehicle to the dealer and buy a new key and/or fob and have it programmed to the vehicle.

Hello. The electronic opener needs new battery. Change it and it will open. The dealer can get you a new key. Get the Vehicle Identification Number & Bill of sale or good proof it is your car and they will help you get a key.

Hello, I put my key in the ignition and when I turned the key it just kept turning and the vehicle did not start. I dont think it is the battery b/c the lights, windows and radio worked. I could not remove...

It may possibly still be the battery. While the windows and lights, etc. may have worked, those require a small output from the battery. The same problem happened to me when I left my trunk open for a long period of time. The engine requires a much higher output from the battery, so while your inside electronics may work, the battery may not have enough charge to start the engine. Connect a battery jumper box to the engine and again try to start the car leaving the box attached. If it starts, keep the box attached for a few minutes and allow the car to run. The battery gauge on your dash should also indicate whether or not your battery has enough juice.

you can try switching the key to the "on" position then open the hood and disconnect the negative terminal of the battery and reconnect after 2minutes. this will allow the alarm to be '"reset" and will recognize that you have the key for the vehicle.
