SOURCE: no heat - ac stays on blowing through defrost vents

If you have the heater directed to the windshield, the AC will turn on. Move the control away from defrost.

2003 Ford Windstar AC is not working. It only blows out hot air. The blend door act. works properly(We have already tested it). There are properly freon in the Vehicle. We are at a lost. Please help

Can you tell if compressor clutch is engaged? If clutch isn't engaged only the belt pulley will be moving and the compressor clutch is not engaged. If not engaged, no ac.

Can you check for applicable hvac codes? To check codes, your-self, at the least, you need an obd2 code reader, that will check manufacturer specific codes as well as po.

I haven't looked at your wiring, you could probably check voltage and ground for compressor, hvac on.6158ef87-8677-4b29-952a-e287698970b5.jpg
In the diagram, you see applicable fuses--clutch relay-- the top wire at ac clutch is voltage--black wire is ground.

If the system is charged and the compressor is operating, you should be getting A/C. The problem would most likely be a jammed or malfunctioning blend door under the dash. This can keep the airflow from passing through the evaporator and can even cause it to expel heat from the heater core instead. It is not easy to troubleshoot and repair these problems as there is limited space to work under the dash. The problem can be vacuum related as most blend doors operate on what is called vacuum motors. There is also a linkage attaching the vacuum motor to the blend door than can be broken or damaged. The door itself could be jammed or broken inside the housing. Good luck.

I ran the air conditioner yesterday and everything was fine, when i got in this morning, it was cool so i turned into vent and moved the thermostat to red. This afternoon it was warm so moved it back to...

I'd probably check the blend door under the dash for proper operation. Sorry, I don't have any pictures. Also, if the blend door is vacuum operated, check the vacuum. I did check hvac wiring diagram, didn't show any actuators, so, I believe vacuum operated. I'd have to look at it, to diagnose further, sorry I don't have better info.

Make sure it is full of refrigerant and compressor clutch in engaging.

2003 Ford Windstar heater acuator located?

Is the heater not working in the front of the van, but is working in the back? You might mean the 'blend door actuator'. It's not easy to get to. The correct way is to remove the dashboard. Search YouTube for 'Windstar blend door actuator' to get some ideas.

99 ford f150 heat works fine but after 5 minutes of driving goes ice cold !! Changes heater core checked hoses checked switch checked blend doors flushed it twice everything!! Any advice?

Could possibly be a vacuum leak. The blend door actuator controls are usually ran off of vacuum. It is possible that once the engine warms up, even though you have it to heat, the loss of vacuum will cause the blend door to switch positions.

Ac control is staying stuck on heater instead of a/c

dreaded blend door breakage, a notorious ford problem-you can manually move the door by gettind down low enough while the system is running and pulling the blend door arm so that you get cool air-and, check for a vacuum hiss, or leak, since this might be what is causing it.

The problem most likely is a faulty electric blend door actuator. Diagnostics will need to be performed on the climate control system to know for certain.

Heater blowing cold air also makeing tapping noise

reading your description i do not believe it is a vacuum concern, as this would more than likely cause the hvac system to default to defrost. the tapping noise sounds more like a temperature blend door actuator is the culprit

I have a 2003 Ford Windstar and the venting system is stuck in the defrost setting. It will heat and cool but only using the front dash and the rear, but not the driver area vents. I am assuming a vacuum...

the dash does not necessarily have to be removed, first check all vacuum lines to the inside of the vehicle. and any others you have access too.
sometimes you only have to get the dash to move out a couple inches to get the blend door actuator. and it may need a blend door too as the pins are susceptible to breakage also.
it is best to get a book for your specific vehicle. Haynes ,Chilton books are widely distributed through auto zone ,checker ,pep boys.
