Car running hot when idle

The most common reason for running hot at idle is the radiator fan is not running or pulling enough air thru the radiator. If you have a fan for the engine and one for the ac, the engine fan may not be working.
The radiator fan should come on when the coolant reaches 220 degrees. The computer sends a signal to the fan relay.

1996 toyota corolla--had to check the raditor fluid daily but had no trouble running hot unless the fluid was low: replaced the radiator and now the car runs hot with coolant in the radiator. The car seems...

did you replace the thermostat when you put the radiator in,you could still have an air pocket in the system, recheck your coolant in the radiator when it is cold.
the next thing is to verify the cooling fans are working, when you see it hot check to see if it really is hot or gauge is lying,if it is hot see if the fans are running to maintain cooling temp,if they are not check coolant fan fuse and relay and last fan motors
