I am told it's all related and that its common in the this car and a new cluster is not needed. It does have to do with electrical but its supposidely an easy fix. I read it on heare a few days ago but can't find it now.

I would suggest it could be something as simple as a blown fuse. There is no power going to your instrument panel, so it is more than likely a loose plug or bad fuse. I dont think it is a major problem at all.

It is really uncommon for everything to go out on the cluster panel at the same time. Seems more like an electrical issue to me. The best thing to do is take it to a shop for diagnostics. depending on the shop and location, 1 hour of diagnostics will run you anywhere from 55.00 an hour to 85.00 or more per hour. Also, you don't necessarily have to go with a new instrument cluster, you can get 1 from a salvage yard and have it sent to the dealership for reprogramming and mileage set to your vehicles mileage.

Need to take part dash off on drivers side Remove instrument panel there will be wiring harness that plugs into instrument panel that has dropped down and is no longer making contact. What he did was plugged it back in and wedged piece of cardboard in there so wouldn't drop down again

Guages not working,

If all voltages checked ok,then most probably its faulty instrument cluster board on which gauges are connected.Yes if cluster circuit board looks ok,then also it can be faulty.Somewhere there is minute short or burn on board then such prolem arises.
Also check the fuse box.One under hood and other under dash.Inspect each and every fuse and see if all are fine or not.
