Fan Control The PCM monitors certain parameters (such as engine coolant temperature, vehicle speed, A/C on/off status, A/C pressure) to determine engine cooling fan needs.
For variable speed electric fan(s):
The PCM controls the fan speed and operation using a duty cycle output on the fan control variable (FCV) circuit. The fan controller (located at or integral to the engine cooling fan assembly) receives the FCV command and operates the cooling fan at the speed requested (by varying the power applied to the fan motor).

Linear speed increase from 50% to 100% Greater than 90% but less than 95% 100% Greater than 95% but less than 100% Fan off
For relay controlled fans:
The PCM controls the fan operation through the fan control (FC) (single speed fan applications), low fan control (LFC), medium fan control (MFC), and/or high fan control (HFC) outputs. Some applications will have the xFC circuit wired to 2 separate relays.
For 3-speed fans, although the PCM output circuits are called low, medium, and high fan control (FC), cooling fan speed is controlled by a combination of these outputs. Refer to the following table.
If you don't understand these thing's listed above your best bet is to take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop . Have the vehicle checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes !

AC diagnosis help 2005 mercury Montego

You should check for a clogged orifice tube. It'll be located right before the evaporator inside the refrigerant line. Also, your desiccant in the receiver/dryer is probably saturated but since you are opening the system anyway, you should probably replace it anyway.

Overheating problem, what is the most probable cause?

You need to stop using it immediately before you
cause some damage or more than you may already have
That is just common sense. It should not overheat or
be any different than it was in the past without problem

The car has to be checked over/diagnosed,tested,etc for
various issues to resolve

Borrow or Rent a car until resolved

No way to guess at the problem

You should have some type of codes avail even
if the check light isn't on,you need professional help
to get a start on resolving

The timing belt maybe worn & jumped or the head gasket
bad.

Over heating isn't usually a cheap repair unless the thermostat
sticks partially closed

The RPM moves around the car is 11 years old,so it may just
need a though going over

Timing Belt,O2 Sensors,Exhaust Converter,Spark Plugs
and such

If you depend on a repair shop to do things & don't
have the knowledge to request work done throughout
the year, then you run into a lack of proactive preventative
maintenance situation. Most things are simple looking
back, once resolved

Ac does not cool at slow speeds or at idle

check that the fans are running on slow speed all the time the AC is turned on ,if not this is your problem

AC comes on, then shuts down before car is cooled. Compressor activates and blows cool air for about 15 seconds then shuts down.

Low on R134a, you need to have the system recharged. Try to stay away from the do it your self kit that most Auto Parts store carry.
Below are normal car AC pressure readings with 134A

Normal readings on high and low side with AC OFF (static pressure) – Depends on outside temperature, but normally is between 80-105 PSI

Normal low side reading with AC on high speed and MAX & engine at 800-1000 RPM’s – Ranges from 25-35 PSI

Normal high side reading ranges from 200-350 PSI

Don’t assume that if adding little Freon is good that adding a lot is better! Overcharging just a little can decrease the performance of the system and possibly damage the compressor.

Thank you for using fixya and good luck.

AC blows cool not cold, checked freon seems to be

I dont know how you can check it for being full or not? but most likely its low. If you have it on, and high speed like 2000 rpm and the a/c clutch goes on/ off in a few seconds, the refrigerent is low.

05 Ford Freestyle AC Problem

Soounds like the AC system need to be refilled and also evacuated. That means all of the air that is not AC fluid removed from the system.

Front & rear ac is "ok" on high RPM but on low does not cool at all,I'just change compresor. Is it any filter in those lines, maby.

Theres no filter for the rear a/c lines, the problem is the lines themselves are too long. On low speed, by the time the cool air reaches the rear vents, its already warming up again.

RPM Is Very High On AC Load

check the solenoid that control the engine RPM the solenoid will work if the compressor run, this will increase your rpm when AC on. location near the carburetor.
