Back of the carb or somewhere on the intake. It needs to be a constant vacuum, not a ported vacuum like above the throttle blades of the carb. There may be a tee fitting somewhere where you can pick it up.

Good luck.

Frontend wont lock in 97 blazer.?

Front end lock is vacuum actuated and if there is no vacuum from the shifter switch, it will not lock the front end. Make sure there is vacuum going down to the switch/valve on the shifter with it in 4wd and engine running, then find if there is vacuum coming out the other side of the switch on the tranny shift valve. On the right fender you will find the cable pull that the vacuum actuates to pull cable and put the front end in gear. Have someone watch while you shift into 4wd to see if the cable is pulled. Check there to see if there is vacuum coming to it when in gear. If there is no vacuum there then the shifter vacuum switch is bad or the line is not connected.

I recently gave to my 73 mustang mach one automatic ****** service that includes changing the oil and filter, the ****** was previously working ok, but now the trans wont change from first to seco

I don't think it's in your linkage. It sounds like you may have a cracked or disconnected vacuum line leading to your vacuum modulator. Or you may have a fauly modulator. Check for leaks first...At the back of the motor on the passenger side there should be a small (in diameter) vacuum line comming from the carburetor to a metal line leading down and back toward the rear of the car. Then at the back of the trans there should be a small vacuum line leading toward the front of the car to a small metal line. If one or both of those vac lines are loose os broken thats most likley your problem. If not it's more likley the modulator.

Car wont start has power steering fluid in mufflar

That's most likely transmission fluid because the diaphragm on your trans that changes the shift point, the vacuum line hooked to the carb is sucking trans fluid right into the engine and now it's fouled the plugs and won't start. Change the plugs, unhook the vacuum line to the tranny, plug the vacuum port and re-start the engine. You know now you have to replace the vacuum unit on the trans.

Need to figure out where my vaccum lines go off of my carb on my 81 cj7

on the radiator support, you'll find the vacuum diagram , easy as a road map to read, for some. If this is a replacement engine, go with the basic line configuration of; vacuum advance, automatic tranny vacuum line, temperature controls if vacuum operated, fuel tank canister. Don't be surprised to see you can block a number of vacuum fittings off the carb. If emissions is an issue, you will want to google the info. List the name, make, model and search on google for the vacuum diagram

Shifter linkage will not align on 97 200sx with standard tranny

you may have the wrong transmission type. the shifters are sort of universal on those cars. like the 5 speed can fit the se or se-r.

My 1992 Jeep 4.0 automatic wont shift into drive and overdrive.

Alot of transmissions run a small vaccum shifter. IF you are up to it, crawl under the jeep and look at the side of the tranny (should be the right side of the car, right above the tranny pan you will see it. its only 2-3 inches in diameter There is also a vacuum line running to it about 1/8th inch rubber line. Its either off or broke near the vacuum shifter.

Hope this helps, Goodluck.
