Wow, a reply about an Australian based engine. I'm thinking since there is no reply that he just may have a US based engine just posted the wrong size. in which case this might help.

I couldn't find a photo but here is the firing order for the holden 308 by general motors : 1-2-7-8-4-5-6-3
you cylinders should be like this :
I believe this is correct.
