Hi,
a 6ya Mechanic can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.

SOURCE: yellow engine light went on. What does this mean?

Hi there,

The yellow/orange Engine Check Light is an indicator that your vehicle's computer has detected an abnormality within the engine's electronics or emission system.

Sometimes it can be a one-off abnormality, which eventually rectifies itself within 40 drive cycles.

However, if the Engine light remains lit, then this is an indication of something more concerning (but not necessarily serious).

If it does remain lit when driving, then you should have your local Jaguar service agent scan the computer for "trouble codes", which will quickly identify the component and/or location of the problem.

Hope this helps...

Cheers,

SOURCE: service engine light is on

hi this could mean numerous things as what has happened is that a fault has registered in the system, and your ECU has detected it and has now written an error code in memory, what you will have to do is find out what the code is that the ECU or also known as ECM has registered and then it should be just a case of replacing the part, or fixing what ever has faulted on the system, you can either, take it to a main dealer to find this out, or a normal garage will also tell you, but they charge quite allot of money to do this , or you can purchase what is called an OBD2 scanner relatively cheaply of the internet, this will tell you the code, and also tell you what the item that is faulty is, so that you can purchase the new part and fit it yourself saving allot of money in the long run and also you have the tool in case something else happens later on, to be honest i did this with my BMW and it has come in very handy, but i purchased an expensive one as my friends also wanted there's tested as well but you will not need an expensive one just for yourself,,, hope this helps

How long have you been driving? Dashboard lights, parking lights, cabin lights etc have dedicated switches in most vehicles. Check your model with BMW for details.

Trying to jump start a 2006 750 Li BMW. Lights turned on after 40mins but car still won't start. Dashboard help screen says engine malfunction due to reduced power.

the ground wire needs to go to a better ground then the strut bolt. find a better thick piece of steel on the engine to ground. those cables look very thin. It should start right away not after 40min. your boosting not charging the battery. if you cant get it started with a better ground location try a thicker set of cables and make sure the other car is running. if this fails your battery needs to be replaced
