Hi,

Have you had the tyre's replaced lately.

These are the only reasons that tyre's will rub:
1. The profile of the tyre's are to high or the width is too wide.
2. Your vehicle height has lowered which could be caused from front springs loss of tension.
3. Your steering joints are so worn that they have changed the turning arc of the wheels.

So have these 3 areas checked and this will getting the rubbing problem sorted.

Hope this has helped, let me know if you need more information.

Thanks

Jason

We just had 4 new tires put on,however this noise started before the tires were replaced, and still continues. Any other ideas?

Just check that non of the under guards which are plastic and are just clipped under the wheel arch may have come loose.

Also have the other 2 solutions I gave you checked.

It doesn't sound like the tires, and the other suggestions are okay. Checked these areas and this is not the problem Any further ideas?

    Ok,

This may sound odd, but it maybe the power steering pump which when you turn hard to either side will make a sound that sounds like something is rubbing.

But it is the relief valve making this noise.

So start the car then get someone to turn the steering wheel to either the left or right and listen to see if it is coming from the power steering pump.

    Let me know.

The only other components that would rub from turning is the brakes but these would do this all the time.

    So just try the steering.

Have a metal grinding noise when turning left only.

Replace the right side wheel bearing. But before you replace it. Listen to see if the noise is coming from the front or back. If you can't tell, Put some one in the back seat. Front bearings usually make noise. rear bearings, the noise can come and go.

When I turn my car to the left, it makes a rubbing/ grinding noise.

Check the brake pads by turning the wheel fully to the left and looking at the disc if it is scored you need new pads. Also Jack the car on the left front so the wheel is off the ground and try to rock it side to side if it moves and there is a clicking sound it could be the wheel bearings.

Check the under fender. Sometimes the black plastic will come loose around the wheel area. Turn your wheels to the left and see if the tire are rubbing close to any part of the fender area.

Noise coming from front of car

It sounds exactly like a wheel bearing problem. The right side its seems would be the problem. When you turn right it puts more pressure on the bad bearing making it louder. I would suggest replacing both. If on is gone the other one isn't far off. Hope this helps
