Does it have an automatic or manual transmission? If it's a manual transmission there is no dipstick. If It's a automatic transmission the dipstick should be located near the firewall of the vehicle where the transmission bolts up to the engine block and usually has a red handle to designate it as the transmission dipstick.

How does one add transmission fluid to 1995 jeep grand cherokee laredo?

Look for the dipstick where you check the transmision fluid level. If you need any you pour it down the dipstick hole. Add it in small amounts and check in between additions, its really easy to overfill. Once overfilled a real pain to get it out.

What gear do i have to be in to check transmission fluid, does the jeep need to get hot

Some cars have 2 marks on the dipstick, one for hot, one for cold, If you have the one mark, it is for hot, and in park. The dipstick hole is the filler. Get the right transmission fluid and a long funnel. Hope this helps.

My 1999 jeep grand cherokee sometimes shifts wrong

check to see if your fluid is low or burnt. if it is low then just add enough to cover the fill mark on the dipstick. if it is burnt, remove the transmission pan and filter and replace the filter. then add new transmission fluid.

How do you check transmission fluid in 1997 jeep cherokee

To check the transmission level remove the dipstick and check to see how much fluid is on the dipstick, it will have a line to indicate full or anything below this line will need to add fluid. The vehicle should be warm with the temperture gauge above 180, and the vehicle should be running to get the proper reading. The fluid should be a bright red color anything darker may need changing, depending on the interval indicated in the owners manual.

88 Jeep Cherokee Transmission Fluid Leak

you need to tighten those fittings with a wrench... if they still leak... remove them and wrap them with a couple turns of "teflon tape" the kind they use for plumbing. the clamps you should use are hose clamps of the same type that you use for radiator hoses... you will note these can be tightened with a socket.... you really don't need to over tighten them but fairly snug... transmission fluid has quite alot of pressure.
