Check the O2 sensors.
Also check the ignition coil not sending any spark to one cylinder.Check all the ignition cylinders if any of the cylinder burnt out it will spit and sputter also check the coil pack.you have replaced the spark plugs But check the voltage to spark plugs.the spark plugs gets power to spark from coil pack.If coil pack is burnt then it will not give required power to spark and due to this vehicle will spit /sputter.
Its either the coil-pack, or injector/cylinders problem. As you have replaced spark plugs.so this are other possible parts to be checked to resolve the issue.

Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

What do these codes mean on a diagnostics check? c, ev, o, oh,e? what are these numbers for ISO9141 KWP2000 and why does it steady blink on monitor then say backfire problems?

you need to read the manual for the machine you are hooking to the vehicle .
These are errors not codes you need to understand how it works better.

Grand prix sputtering

First off, is a check engine lite on,if so do you know the codes? It does have a cam sensor, the cam sensor malfunction gives a code reading,in general fuel probs do not give a code this is done bymanually checking fuel press ect....the module does give specific codes as well...I have seen a cam sensor give the prob. you list, BUT TEST BEFORE YOU BUY,you can get your own codes from the a.l.d.l connector, under dash...take a coated jumper wire and push one end into the g .circuit ,the other into the b terminal and watch the lite flashig in the dash,,ie, 2 flashes...pause then 4 flashes is an example....wilf

2004 grand cherokee 4.0l one day it will run fine the next day it runs rough rich and when i step on the gas the engine cuts out and spits and sputters

When the "spits and sputters" happen are you in low rpm? Can you "by-pass" the sputtering by accelerating? Has your gas mileage suffered?

WAS RUNNING GREAT. PUT GAS IN IT, AND AFTER DRIVING IT FOR ALITTLE BIT, STARTING SPITTING AND SPUTTERING. LIKE IT IS MISSING

sounds like you may have some water in there. Buy some dry gas treatment and put in the tank.

1995 Jeep grand cherokee is missing while running. When it is under a heavy load (driving fast) it runs fine. When idleing and slow driving it spits and sputters.

I have the same problem on my 95 grand cherokee laredo. Sometimes it starts out fine and after about 10 miles it starts spitting and sputtering. Then after a while it seems to clean out and run fine again for a little while. Then other times it starts out spitting and sputtering at the begining. I changed the fuel filter and that was not it. It is a 4.0L 6cyc. Any Ideas?

Thanks,
Broken Arrow, OK

Engine wont go over 3000 rpm while driving

Is the check engine light on? If so check what codes are stored. It sounds like the m a p sensor.
Good luck dont forget to rate.
