Question about 2002 Saturn Sl

1 Answer

Unexplained stall directly after start. A diagnostic computer reads only an engine stall code. The mechanic replaced the crank sensor and it still stalls out. Fuel presure is fine, wiring seems to be good. I bought this car a year ago usedand it started stalling out (only directly after starting) about 3 months ago. This problem is random and doesn't happen in any particular order, climate, place, timeing...ect

What's the fuel pressure and flow rate ? Are there any DTC's - diagnostic trouble codes ? Hooking up a scan tool to read engine data Would be a must diagnostic step , not guessing and just replacing parts . You spent more then it would have cost to take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop .

Jeep cranks but does not start

Hi, First replace your plugs. Second check ignition coil(s) one maybe bad. replace with new. If all else is good, have your mechanic check the computer codes. (code scanner) Many of todays cars and trucks have computers to run and control the engine. (management system). Good luck

2002 gmc 2500 panel van......engine stalls....code was to change cam sensor....vehicle is fine after sensor is changed however after driving for a few hours , problem of stalling returns, cam sensor has...

Have the crank sensor checked, some times a generic scan tool or code reader will pull a code but list cam sensor and then when code is read with a gm tool it reads crank sensor, can you give me the code #?
you may also have a wiring problem to cam sensor or faulty ecm or bcm. ( computer) engine control module) good day
but still have the crank tested ,good day

My. car v6a12 engine galant. engine crank but wont start

Hello
The engine and automatic transmission in this vehicles drive train are fully electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM (Power Train Control Module). Whenever a problem like this occurs the computer stores a record of the problem (there are of course some exceptions to this, like the fuel pump, engine coolant temperature sensor and MAF sensor for instance) in the form of a fault code in its memory, to read these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with a special tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must perform the appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the problem(s) DO NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS UNTIL A TRAINED TECHNICAIN HAS DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM TO AVOID SPENDING YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON PARTS THAT MAY NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM

Car would not start, after siiting for an hour it did start .

mcdevito75 here, BEST BET, let the shop do this work, too many un forseen problems could come up. The stalling and unable to start for a while could also be a bad ignition module, no test for this part, but I would have it changed, for if it is a bad ignition module, all this other work will not fix the stalling and later start of your car.

PROBLEM:car does not always start or car shuts down while driving.SOLUTION:replace module!the 1994 LeSabre has two options the ECO-1 or the OBDM-1.My LeSabre was repaired by a master mechanic, who also replaced the computer because it was fried. My mechanic used the OBDM-1 module and replaced the computer haven't had a problem since.
