Under your van are pinch rails, located about 1/2 inch under the van you can support the van by utilizing them.

I hope this helps

I need an engune diagram for a 2001 Chrysler Toen & Country...need to know where the starter is located for replacement!

Rear of the engine under the van at the connection of the engine to the transmission bell housing. You must raise the van with a floor jack and support it on jack stands to access the starter motor, you can't do it from up top. NEVER WORK WITHOUT JACK STANDS SUPPORTING THE VEHICLE, DISCONNECT THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE!

How y can change te motor mount

Put a jack under the oil pan. Use a piece of wood between jack and pan so you don't distort the oil pan. Raise the engine just enough to remove weight on the motor mount. Now you can remove the motor mount. If anything is in the way of mount removal, take it off and set aside. Once the new mount is on, you can use the jack to raise or lower engine for the through bolt (if it has one) to slide in the mount.
Post back if you still have a problem. Good luck.

I have a 1993 Lumina Van that has a flat tire. I don't know how to get the spare tire down from under the car. I don't have anything that looks like a wrench

where your jack and lug wrench is located.. you should also have a long rod that is part of the jack assembly .. on your rear bumper look for a small hole. the rod gets inserted into that small hole and you turn left continuosly and the tire will start to drop slowly from the undercarriage of the vehicle.

How to get drum pads off a 2000 dodge caravan

The pad drums of your 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan can wear with use. Heat buildup in the brakes can glaze, warp or crack the drum. If that happens, replacement of the drum is the only way to fix it. In most cases, you can remove the rear drums, replace them with a new set and leave the existing shoes on the van. Take a minute and inspect the brake shoes thoroughly while you have the drums off the van.

  1. Loosen the lug nuts on the rear of your 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan with a lug wrench. Do not take them off the wheel studs.
  2. Raise the rear of the van with a jack and support it on a set of jack stands. Place the stands under the rear suspension, making sure they are secure. Remove the lug nuts from the wheel studs and pull off the rear wheels.
  3. Check the rear drum where the wheel studs come through for retaining clips. These are used during the manufacturing process; and if they are still on your van, they need to be removed. Pry the clip off the wheel stud with a flat head screwdriver and discard them. Most vehicles will have two clips on each brake drum.
  4. Grasp the brake drum on the outer edges and pull it straight off the wheel studs and brake pads. Discard the old drum and slide the new drum into place, aligning the holes in the drum with the wheel studs. Push the drum in until it seats completely. Repeat the process on the opposite side of the van.
  5. Position the wheel back on the wheel studs and install the lug nuts by hand. Raise the back of the van with a jack and remove the jack stands from under the suspension. Lower the van to the ground and tighten the lug nuts with a lug wrench.

Installing a alternator in a 1998 chevy venture

  • Open the hood of your Venture and use a wrench to remove the retaining bolt on the negative battery terminal. Remove the negative battery cable from the terminal and set it aside.
  • 2 Raise the front of the van with a jack and support it with a set of jack stands. Position the stands under the front suspension, making sure they are stable and then remove the jack.
  • 3 Locate the starter motor on the front of the engine, working from under the van. Remove the retaining nuts from the terminals on the back of the starter solenoid with a socket and ratchet then label the wires with a piece of masking tape and a marker. Remove the wires and set them aside.
  • 4 Remove the two mounting bolts from the starter with a socket and ratchet then lower the starter out of the engine compartment. Raise a new starter into place, install the mounting bolts and tighten them to 35 pound-feet with a torque wrench and socket.
  • 5 Install the wiring connections on the terminals on the back of the solenoid, paying close attention to the label you placed on them when you removed them from the old starter. Install the retaining nuts on the two terminals and use a torque wrench and socket to torque the "S" terminal to 27 pound-inches and the "B" terminal to 89 pound-inches.
  • 6 Raise the front of the van off the jack stands, remove the stands from under the van and set the van back on its wheels. Install the negative battery cable on the negative battery terminal and tighten the retaining bolt with a wrench.

Need to pull moter out. does it come out the top or bottem?

If you are taking it out of a minivan, the easiest way would be to disconnect the entire front end (suspension) and lift the van - pull the old engine off, install new one, lower van, reconnect everyting. Check first to see if the cross memeber is welded on one side. I had an 87 Buick Century that I had another engine put into, and they were gonna take it from under the car, as I mentioned above, and when i looked underneath, the cross member was welded on one side, and bolted on the other. Very strange if you ask me. I think raising the vehicle (if you have a lift or jacks and jack stands to get it high enough. I hope this was helpful.
