Question? crawl under the car and change it

So the crawl under the car and change it is the best advice anyone can give? Thanks for nothing!.

The fog lamp is mounted in your rubber bumper facia or cover. You usually have to remove the lamp from the back, eg. from under the vehicle and from the back of the lamp holder.

I assumed you asked, because you wanted to do it yourself and save time and money, and didn't see how it could be done from the front.

Poor choice of words on my part, you don't see anyone else rushing to help you, because it is not a difficult job, I lay on the ground and reach up, to do it on mine.

Testimonial: "I appreciate the response. Yes, I will do it myself but the undercarriage facia cover protects the light assembly and threw me at first. Thanks."

Not as easy as it sounds considering there are pop-offs that have to be pulled from the facia underneath, plus in most cases both set's of fog lights should be changed as a pair, which mean that both side's of the facia will have to be removed just to reach in and remove bulbs, oh and one more thing, don't touch the bulb with your fingers. The oil from your fingers does something to the bulb when it get's hot. The main head lights aren't going to be easy to replace either, again they should be replaced as a set.

SOURCE: 2005 Nissan Maxima SE Fog light replacement

jorgeva: on the driver's side to gain access, you must remove the air cleaner assembly. At that point, you can see the back of the light which has a plastic cap. Rotate this "counter clockwise" and you can pull it back from the back of the lamp housing. From there you will see how the bulb it self is plugged in, which is obvious. Unplug it. There is a "spring "like latch retainer to hold the bulb in place. Unlatch it, remove the bulb and install the new bulb.
CAUTION!!!!!!! DO NOT TOUCH THE GLASS AREA OF THE NEW BULB! Only handle the rear section. Reassemble in the reverse order.
The right side will require the removal of the windshield washer tank.
I trust this will have answered your question. If you would, let me or FIXYA know if I have solved your problem......

To activate fog lamps 2006 altma do you need to change headlamp turn switch

Yes, the 2006 has the fog light switch on the headlight switch which is also the turn signal switch, another way is to install a fog light switch, this will not be as the factory setup which works off the headlight switch but will save some money.

How to remove broken fog light on drivers side and install new fog light?

Remove black plastic fender cover underneath your bumper. Watch for the two spring screw clips they may fall off put them back on. Now you can see the back of the fog light assembly. You will either see the bulb or a black plastic cover that needs to be turned counter clockwise to remove the bulb.
