Have you replaced 10A fuse #19 under the dash with a known good fuse?

can not dim headlights when - 7fa4224.jpg

Keep in mind that, for
1992 Honda Accord 2.2L FI 4cyl the Relay - Dimmer is located front seating area, driver side, under dash, behind kick panel, mounted in fuse/relay panel.

The issue you are having is the dimmer switch itself. In the past, I heard that in '93 with the same issue had it for years. pull it out, disassemble it carefully, there is carbon buildup on the dimmer wheel. You'll notice if you wiggle the wheel the lights will come on. years ago when i first had the issue i came across a site that had full disassembly and reassembly instructions. replace the switch and your issue is done. pull it out clean it up cost nothing and for a while it will stay good.

The 93 assembly has the dimmer, mirror, and sunroof controls all in one bank its easiest to pry out the whole bank disconnect all the wire clips. its tricky to remove the 3 individual components because their pressure clips are in tight against each other but it can be done with a flathead screwdriver.

Hope this helped (remember rated this help) Good luck.

Test the electrical circuit's ! Look at a wiring diagram so you know what wire's to test . Watch these video's , buy a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter . Learn to test so you don't listen to guesses .

Electric Testing Techniques You Need to Know Free wiring diagrams here . http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html Enter vehicle info. year , make , model and engine size. Under system click on lighting ,then under subsystem click headlamps . Click the search button then the blue link's . Right away in the first diagram i see the headlamp / panel dimmer switch is a input to the BCM - body control module . I mite think your first response would be to want to replace the BCM ! Reading a discription of how the lights are suppose to work may shed some light on the problem .
Headlamp ON/OFF control is determined by the body control module (BCM) by a signal on the headlamp switch on input circuit when the headlamp switch is in the HEAD position. When the headlamp switch is in the AUTO position, the BCM determines headlamps ON/OFF by the voltage from the ambient light sensor.
If the headlight switch is left in the ON position, the inadvertent power control feature will turn off the headlights approximately 10 minutes after the ignition switch is turned to the OFF position. If the driver places the headlight switch in the ON position after the ignition switch has been turned OFF, or if the ignition switch is in the ACCY position, the headlights will remain on until turned off or the battery runs dead.
The high beam indicator is illuminated when the instrument cluster receives a class 2 serial data message from the BCM that the high beams are illuminated.

Having the vehicle checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes , BCM - codes ! Need a professional type scan tool . Part stores can't read body codes , dealer or independent repair shop .

DTC B2575
When the body control module (BCM) senses a request for low beam headlamp illumination, the BCM sends a ground signal to the low beam headlamp relay through the headlamp low beam relay control circuit. The headlamp low beam relay will apply voltage to illuminate the headlamps.
DTC B2580
When the body control module (BCM) receives a ground signal from the multifunction high beam or flash to pass (FTP) switch commanding to illuminate the high beam headlamps, the BCM will energize the high beam relay by grounding the high beam relay control circuit.
DTC B2600
DTC B2610
The body control module (BCM) receives a variable voltage signal from the instrument panel (I/P) dimmer switch requesting to illuminate the illumination lamps to a desired intensity. When this occurs, the BCM directly sends a variable voltage based on the I/P dimmer switch position on the instrument panel lamps dimming supply voltage circuit, instrument panel lamps dimming control circuit, and the LED dimming signal circuit.
Voltage for the instrument panel lamps dimming supply voltage circuit, instrument panel lamps dimming control circuit, and the LED dimming signal circuits is from the TBC 2 A fuse in the instrument panel fuse block directly through the BCM to these circuits.

DTC B2620
The BCM directly sends a 5 volt reference voltage to the I/P dimmer switch which is then adjusted based on the I/P dimmer switch position and returned as a dimming return and dimming input to the BCM. The BCM uses this signal to directly control the desired level of instrument panel illumination lamp intensity.

Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop .

When I pull the headlight switch out why don't my

This is very common. the headlight switch is bad. replace the switch and that should solve the problem.

i have run into some that the dash lights dont work at all or they come on and off while driving.
the switch goes bad. there is also a dimmer switch . the dimmer switch controls the dim or brightness off the lights.

Dim Screen on the 2001 Toyota Prius

Yes the screen dims automatically when the lights are on to suit night driving. I am not specifically familiar with the 01 model, however on my 08 model, the display brightness is also manually adjustable via a button located below and to the right of the display. The button is marked with a series of short lines assembled in an arc. Hope this helps.

The headlights only work on Bright. The dim

If the low beam head light relay is fine, and the dimmer switch checks out fine, then look at the out put wire from the dimmer switch to the head light relay, check for voltage, then check the relay to see if it energizes. Then follow the wire(out put)from the relay to the head light. Now if power from the dimmer is getting to the relay, but the relay is not energizing, look for a bad relay,or bad relay ground wire.

No Dim's

Skinny, I think your on the right track. Disconnect one of your low beam head lights, turn the headlights on and to low beam, you should have voltage on the "tan"wire at the headlight. If you do not, go to the dimmer switch under the steering column and check the same wire. If it still has no voltage, replace the dimmer switch.
Good luck and let me know.
